March 30. After nap, Daddy got the china cabinet braced up with the L braces, and I finished the revision of “Lav, Mesi, Marimari”. Then I made a salad and pizza for supper. Around supper time, Daddy also skyped Owena. (phone call only, no video) Off to church this evening. A lot of people were out. Some have been sick with stomach flu which is going around. Our prayer time was spent praying for the coming revival meetings. Pastor Ogle preached on Genesis chapter 37, starting the life of Joseph, his main theme being that “you must deal with bitterness and hatred or it will lead to much sorrow.” After the meeting, Daddy and I hurried home because there was a mountain of dishes to be washed. When we got here, there was an e-mail from Martha, and then Daddy saw that she was online so he skyped her too. It was nice to talk with her, although Daddy did most of the talking because I was busy with the dishes. “And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” Luke 18:27 March 31. Last day of the month already. A cloudy day, but only a few sprinkles of rain. Sunshine peeked through for just a few moments this afternoon. Daddy spent most of the morning calling pastors of supporting churches and making arrangements to come and give a report of our work. While he was doing that, I printed out a paper on personal work to put in my Bible to use during the revival meetings. Then I cleaned and organized the china cabinet. I am thankful to have that all done. After Daddy finished making calls, he put a couple glass shelves up above the kitchen sink. This afternoon, I printed out the personal work paper and also a copy of the revised “Lav, Mesi, Marimari.” After that is proofread and any corrections made, we should be ready to print out good copies to send off to PNG. This afternoon, Daddy skyped Owena again, this time getting in touch with Amos and being able to talk to him. Gibson was with him. “ For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10 Thank you, Lord, for seeking and saving me.

March 28. The Lord sent us rain during the night. The world was wet and cloudy early this morning, but the clouds soon turned to sunshine. It felt so good to be able to have doors and windows open most of the day. We praise the Lord for His help in checking chapters 23 and 24 of Matthew today. Only four more chapters to go. For breaks from brain work, time was spent on getting more unpacking and organizing done. Little by little things are taking shape. Shortly before supper this afternoon, Daddy and I went out for a walk. Said “hello” to a number of people along the way. Stopped at the next door neighbor’s house before returning to our own and spent about a half hour with them. They invited us to come up and sit with them on their porch. They too have lived here less than a year (since last May). There is much ministry opportunity here. We can see that we will need much wisdom in reaching this neighborhood with the true Gospel. “3Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. 4And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.” Luke 17:3,4 March 29. Praise the Lord for another sunshiny day, though somewhat cooler than yesterday with a chilly wind. It was clothes washing day, or rather, sheet and blanket washing day so it was a blessing to have the sun and wind to get things dry. Besides doing the laundry, there was a little bit of time to do more organizing and some proofreading of “Lav, Mesi, Marimari” (Love, Mercy, Grace booklet) before going out this morning. Around 10:30, Joan P. picked up Connie and me to take us to the ladies’ M&M meeting at the Gentle Moom Café in Kings Mountain. Diane H. was with her. We arrived a little before 11:00. Lisa O was already there. Shortly Karen C came, then Jamie V and Angela Y, and last of all Mary C. There were 9 of us all together. Lisa had printed some things on paper such as, Tell about how you and your husband met; If you could do anything you wanted for one day, what would you do?; Tell about someone who most influenced your life; What is one type of gift you especially like to receive? Each one present picked a paper and talked about what was on their paper. It was a good time of sharing and learning about each other. The servers had taken our orders before we started, and started bringing them before we finished so we finished afterward. The food was great! I ordered a roast beef wrap and a just-peachy smoothie. A small container of cottage cheese was served with the wrap. Brought half the wrap home. After we ate, sister Lisa did a very short Bible study. She would have spent more time, but we had asked to have the AC turned off because it was so cold and blew right on our heads. I was afraid I would get earaches, which I did have a little bit this afternoon. A lot of people were in the café eating by then, and she didn’t want them to be without the AC if they needed it so she cut the Bible study short. Joan dropped us off here at home a little before 1:00. After a welcome nap, we all went off to the trailer again to do more cleaning, tossing, and packing. My, what a job! I am really sore this evening after doing that work. This evening, I finished proofreading “Lav, Mesi, Marmari” and have been making some revisions. “13And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.” Luke 18:13,14 March 26. A little sunshine and lots of clouds today. I was thankful that Christy made the pancakes this morning for herself and her Daddy. I just had to fix Daddy’s eggs and make my own breakfast. After breakfast, I washed one load of sheets and blankets and put them in the dryer just before we headed off to Towery Rd. The rest of the morning was spent helping Christy and Connie sort, throw out, clean, pack, and load up the car. It was about 12:30 when we arrived home. While Daddy unloaded the van, I got down our clothes that had been hung out yesterday afternoon because it looked like it might rain. Got things hung up in the closet or folded and put away. Then we sat down for lunch (after 1:00). Before we had our nap, the bed needed to be made as I had stripped the sheets off this morning. Finally got settled down for nap about 2:00. After nap, I got a card and gift ready for my secret sister and cut some material which we want to make into curtains for the kitchen window. Then I started supper - cut up a dish of veggies to cook for myself - yellow squash, mushrooms, carrots, and onions; put water on to boil for spaghetti for Daddy; browned some ground beef; warmed up spaghetti sauce and green beans in the microwave. This evening, I wrote a few e-mails, something I haven’t done for a while and am getting too far behind again. “26If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple…. 33So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:26,27,33 March 27. Connie and Christy picked up Steve and Cindie for church this morning so Daddy and I picked up Kathy M. Mrs. Surrett continued her lessons on home management. Pastor Ogle preached a powerful message about responses to resurrections, comparing people’s responses to the various resurrections mentioned in the Bible to people’s responses to Christ’s resurrection. It was a blessing to see Kim there today. Praise the Lord for answered prayer in her behalf! This evening Pastor Ogle. preached on II Chronicles 7:14, as he is seeking to prepare our hearts for revival. He gave us time then to examine our hearts before partaking together of the Lord’s table. Following the service, a number of us met in the ladies’ Sunday school classroom while Pastor Ogle shared the things that would be expected of us in counseling those who respond to the invitation during the revival meetings. We are looking forward to what God will do as we seek His face. “It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.” Luke 15:32 March 25. Another lovely spring day, around 75º. Am quite tired this evening after being on my feet a lot today. About 9:30 this morning, Daddy and I went out to do shopping. First to WalMart where we got a few groceries and then spent quite a bit of time looking for things that weren’t there. Next stop was Office Max for some card stock for the “Lav, Mesi, Marimari” (Love, Mercy, Grace) booklets. When we came out to the car from Office Max, Daddy noticed that the right front tire was quite low. We would need to get that checked out, but first we would go to Aldi and get the groceries we needed there. After that, we decided the best thing to do would be to go back to WalMart auto center in case there was a puncture in the tire that would need to be fixed. We were thankful we did that because, yes, the tire was flat and not just low on air. Almost another hour was spent waiting for the tire to be fixed. Finally arrived home shortly before 1:00. There was LOTS of traffic today. Put away groceries and had a very short nap before Mel called so he and Daddy could go get the washer and dryer, and before our landlord and his wife would come to do some work for us in the house. They checked our water heater first. It was only set around 85 or 90, they said. So they set that up for us and showed us how to change it if we would need to do that again. Then they checked the door in C&C’s bathroom. Had to go out and get a new door knob. Came back and changed the door knob and also filed off the bottom of the door which was getting stuck when opened. They also bought carpenter bee spray and sprayed a whole can of that out back to try to get rid of the bees which have come in abundance and seem to be multiplying. They left an extra can with us in case we need it. Included in their purchases was an American flag which they put up on the front porch. So thoughtful of them! Just as they were leaving, Mel and Daddy came back with the washer and dryer, and CJ (landlord) offered to help Mel bring them inside. That was a blessing as Daddy then didn’t have to try to lift the heavy loads. CJ left after that, and Mel hooked up the washer and dryer. Then he and Daddy put the legs on the china cabinet and got that set up. We are thankful to have that up now and the drawers back in it so we could move the table back to the wall and give ourselves a little more room to move around in here. While they were getting the china cabinet set up, I put a load of clothes in to wash. Praise the Lord for a washer and dryer now! And praise the Lord for Mel’s help! Had supper and then hung out that load of clothes. A second load is now done and in the dryer. “13But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: 14And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just…. 21So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. 22And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. 23And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” Luke 14: 13,14,21-23 March 23. We thank the Lord for the nice sunny day. We didn’t have to go anywhere today. That was a blessing so we could get more done at home. Daddy worked outside for a while - raking, picking up sticks, mowing. He had a chance to meet the neighbor kitty-corner from us on Calvary. He said he is wanting to move from this area because of all that goes on - so much noise and other activity here. Connie and I did some organizing around the house. Daddy and I finished checking Matthew 18 and then did 19. After nap this afternoon, we checked chapter 20. We are thankful for what the Lord enable us to accomplish today. I also finished crocheting a tie back for the curtain in our bedroom. Need to make another one for the other curtain. “49I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?... 51Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division….” Luke 12:49,51 March 24. The Lord blessed us with another nice, sunny day, although the wind was a bit chilly. With the Lord’s help we completed checking of two more chapters of Matthew today. After our morning session of checking, we decided to go out for a little walk. I was so excited to find tiny, pretty violets growing all over the yard. We also walked over to our neighbors’ house when we saw sitting outside. Talked with him for a little bit, and then his wife, came out. We enjoyed a good time of chatting with them. Invited them to go to church with us since they don’t have transportation right now to go to their own church. They said they would like to go so we hope they do. I was thankful to get a box of papers filed this evening, thus emptying another box. That was quite a job. There are still a lot of things that need to be filed. Wrote to our landlady today about our water situation since we are not getting hot water since the electrician was here - only warm water, and it quickly runs out. She said they would come by on Saturday afternoon and take a look at things. March 21. Went to Big Lots to get All Bran and ended up getting a number of organic products as well. The new Salvation Army thrift store was open so we went in there to see if we could find some shelf units and dining room chairs. Didn’t find either of those, but I did find a couple of pretty vintage shams which were just perfect to cover the cushions on the rocking chair. Now I just need something to cover the foot stool. Also found vintage curtains that go well with those shams and will hang those on our bedroom windows. Praise the Lord for His provision. Next stop was WalMart for a few groceries, some yarn, a plastic table cover, and a seat belt adjuster (all gone, but some supposed to come in tonight). Got home around 11:30. Fixed and ate an early lunch. Did a few other little jobs. Went for a nap around 1:00. This afternoon, Daddy and I checked Matthew chapter 17 and part of chapter 18. Christy’s coworker brought her home from work, and then Christy and Connie went out shopping. This evening, I finished up a letter to Sunny, got all the letters printed out, and the package of Sunday school lessons all sealed up and ready to mail to PNG. “21In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. 22All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.” Luke 10:21,22 March 22. Whew! It has been a busy day. Did some house cleaning this morning before the electricians came. They came around 9:00 a.m. to check out the reason for electric current coming through the water pipes in the upper part (west end) of the house. Finding the problem didn’t take too long, but fixing the problem took about 3 1/2 hours. The current was coming through the water itself. One of the elements in the west end water heater had broken but hadn’t shorted out. Therefore the electric current continued to flow and flowed right through the water. If things had been properly wired and grounded, that would not have happened. So their morning was spent fixing the water heater, rewiring everything so it all connected to the electric boxes out back, and properly grounding things. We are so thankful to have that taken care of. There shouldn’t be any more electrifying experiences when we take our shower. While they were working on that, I shelved two boxes of books in the living room and got the progress report ready to send to Pastor O. Daddy helped me put the curtains up on the other living room window. By the time the electricians left, it was 12:30 so Daddy and I went off to Subway for lunch. Then we went to the post office to mail the packet of Sunday school lessons and letters to PNG. Next stop was the thrift store. We were thankful to find a shelf unit to go on top of the office desk and a smaller shelf unit for Connie’s room. Also found a set of vintage pillow cases that seemed to go well with the set we got at Salvation Army yesterday. One is covering the foot stool that goes with the rocker, and the other is being used as a dresser scarf. It was a little after 2:00 when we got back to the house. By the time we got the shelf units in and things somewhat organized, Christy was home. And she came home in her own vehicle. Praise the Lord! Jeremy had brought the van to her at work. The reason the right front wheel was going flap, flap, flap was not a ball joint as they had thought it might be, but that the tire was unthreading and coming apart. Apparently they had run over something that had slashed that tire. We were very thankful that the problem was no bigger than that and that Jeremy was able to get it fixed right away. Around 3:00, Christy and Connie went off to the post office to make an address change and then to the trailer to clean some things out of the shed. Daddy lay down for a short nap and then went over to help them. I lay down for a short nap too. After nap, I got the progress report sent off to Pastor Ogle, cleaned the bathtub and bathroom floor, put away a few things in the dining room, wrote a very brief history of each member of our family for Connie to use on the blog site. By then it was after 5:00, and Daddy and the girls still weren’t here so I started eating some supper. They came shortly and had their supper. After supper, Daddy put up curtain rod hardware so we could hang up one curtain in our bedroom. We need to get more hardware and rods before we can hang up the other one. “But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” Luke 11:28 |
