March 11. Went to bed at 9:30 last night. Was really wiped out. Then this morning, I was on my feet most of the time from the time I got up until 10:00. By then I was already worn out. Got the wash started so it was ready when Anna Jean came. Made tea for my pre-breakfast drink. Washed out Daddy’s coffee cup. Read a chapter in Pidgin I John. Sorted and washed greens for Anna Jean to cut up. Got out other veggies too — onions, uxai, potatoes, carrots — all for Anna Jean to cut up and add to the big pressure cooker to make soup for dinner. Washed a popo to be cut up later. Looked over bananas Mata had brought and counted them. Finally got to make my breakfast (apple fritters) after that. Went outside for a few minutes to stretch and get fresh air. Made the bed. Oiled the top of the wood stove which Daddy had cleaned off. Added butter and seasonings and more water to the pot of soup and started it cooking. Stopped now and then to pray while I was working. After that, I finally got to sit down and relax and enjoy a little Bible study in Deuteronomy. I was thankful for my afternoon nap and for the Lord’s peace not to think about some troubling things that are going on but to think about the Lord and His goodness. More and more we see that the Lord may move us out of Owena to a town location where we can establish the missionary training so it is more available to other churches. If the Lord delight in us and desires to see a good missionary training program established for Baptist churches who love the truth, we know that He can do great things, exceeding abundantly above all that we could ask or think. This afternoon, I cut up a popo and washed the mountain of dishes that had accumulated since yesterday when we came home. By then it was just about supper time. Cut up part of a tomato which I had salvaged yesterday from a partially moldy tomato, and ground up some chicken sausages and mixed them with mayonnaise for our supper sandwiches. In the evening, I started another study in Revelation, now beginning chapter 17. March 12. Thankful not to be quite so busy this morning. Thankful for one banana on the bunch we bought yesterday that was ripe enough to add to some popo and make a smoothie. Made granola which I forgot to make yesterday amidst all the other things that called for my attention. Made the bed and folded and put away yesterday’s laundry. Greeted several people at the door including Apekio, Julian, and Elise. Daddy and I went out for a stretch in the sunshine. Yanahdo came for me to read the Scripture to her and pray for her. As I read the rest of Deuteronomy 31, I was happy to be reminded that God is the author of good songs, both the words and the music. This afternoon, I made a popo crisp for Daddy and worked on the study of Revelation 17:1-6. We were surprised to see Erovi come to the door late this afternoon. He seemed somewhat confused like he had not intended to come to our house. We had just been told by Bonita that he was sick again since the first time he came here after his recovery from being near death. Continued with the study of Revelation this evening. March 13. The Lord gave us a nice sunshiny morning. After breakfast and quiet time, we enjoyed a stroll out in the fresh air. Then I spent quite a bit of time on a Bible study in Deuteronomy as the song God taught Moses was 43 verses long. Most of my computer time the rest of the day was given to working on Revelation 17. It is a difficult chapter to work through, and I do need the Lord’s help to handle it carefully and prayerfully. We listened to Pastor Surrett’s message from Job called Unshakeable Faith. I think we had listened to it before, but it was encouraging to listen to again at this time.

March 9. A rainy night, and light rain off and on throughout the day. No sunshine. First order of business this morning was laundry. I’m glad for the breezeway where we can hang things outside without the rain falling on them. It took most of the day for everything to get dry because of the cold and dampness. Daddy went out shopping again by himself. There were only a few last-minute items to get today. I wrote a couple e-mails, did some packing, got two sets of journal notes ready and e-mailed those off to Christy and Connie. Took time out from that off and on to do more packing. By bedtime, I was more than tired, but everything was done except for what had to wait until morning. We would need to get up early, and be ready for the first flight. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (II Timothy 1:7) March 10. Daddy was up some time after 5:00 this morning. I woke up around 5:20, and the lights were already on in the other rooms. I really didn’t feel like getting up, but I know how quickly 7:00 comes and we need to be heading for the hangar. I ate breakfast on the run, packing and cleaning in between bites. We were thankful for Nason coming to help carry our cargo downstairs and load up the truck. It was about 7:15 when we left CRMF. When we arrived at the hangar, the security were there to let us in, but no workers yet. They arrived within a couple minutes, however. They weighed up the rest of our cargo, and we actually got off the ground about 8:45 and back to Owena around 9:15. We were thankful to get home early and be able to get everything unpacked and put away. We had an early lunch because we had had an early breakfast. Daddy had leftover spaghetti for dinner, and I had a meat pie. I was so tired, I went right to nap after dinner and slept a couple hours. People came and went most of the day, most of them getting things they had ordered from town. Julian brought a couple popo, Sakias’s daughter brought greens and cucumbers, and Taro’s daughter brought uxai. I was thankful there were hardly any dirty dishes this evening, as I really did not have the strength to wash them. I was thankful for a nice bath after cleaning out the bathtub. It looked like a mighty wind or an earthquake had shaken all the cockroach droppings out of the wall and scattered them all over the inside of the tub. But why only that area of the house and only the tub? That’s a mystery to me. March 7. Another busy day. Praise the Lord for sunshine! Mike and family and Wenera came early as they promised to pick up their cargo and get ready to head to Minj. Daddy took them to the bus stop to catch a Hagen bus. Daddy received a call early this evening from Mike saying they had arrived safely in Minj. Thank you, Lord, for taking care of them. Not long after Daddy got back to the house, it was time to head to Lapilo for my appointment with Dr. Kevin. Just as we were about to go down to the truck, Daddy happened to glance out the window and see a big container truck starting to back up into the CRMF parking area. That truck would block the entrance/exit, and we would not be able to get out. Daddy dashed down the stairs and asked the workers to have the driver wait just a couple minutes while he pulled the truck out the gate and around to the front of the business area. Whew! Praise the Lord that he saw the truck in time. Then he came back up and finished getting ready to go, and we headed out for Lapilo. Praise the Lord for a good visit with Dr. Kevin, and that he is pleased that things are remaining stable. This is my last visit for several months as Dr. Kevin will be going on leave until the end of August. The clinic gave me enough metoprolol until he gets back, and I had to order more apixaban. We were there a long time, not because our visit was long, but we had to wait quite a while as Dr. Kevin was dealing with an emergency patient. When we left the clinic, we went to the NTM store and bought a few items, including a small yogurt maker and yogurt starter. Then on the way back to CRMF, we stopped at Food Link and bought a few items there. It was after 12:30 when we finally got back to the flat. We had lunch and then a nap. Daddy was gone out shopping by the time I got up from nap. This afternoon, I wrote an e-mail to C&C and prepared pumpkin for supper as well as spaghetti and meat sauce. This evening, the Lord sent some thunder and lightning and just a little bit of rain. There was one loud lightning snap that was a bit scary as it hit somewhere close by with a deafening clap of thunder immediately following. March 8. Daddy went out and did shopping by himself today. He did meet up with Ubet and Ephraim who helped him with bulk buying. I stayed here at the flat, got an e-mail ready to go out with the progress report for Pastor Ogle, wrote the March update, and got two e-mails sent out to C&C with updates for mailing and updates for e-mailing. |
