March 9. A rainy night, and light rain off and on throughout the day. No sunshine. First order of business this morning was laundry. I’m glad for the breezeway where we can hang things outside without the rain falling on them. It took most of the day for everything to get dry because of the cold and dampness. Daddy went out shopping again by himself. There were only a few last-minute items to get today. I wrote a couple e-mails, did some packing, got two sets of journal notes ready and e-mailed those off to Christy and Connie. Took time out from that off and on to do more packing. By bedtime, I was more than tired, but everything was done except for what had to wait until morning. We would need to get up early, and be ready for the first flight. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (II Timothy 1:7) March 10. Daddy was up some time after 5:00 this morning. I woke up around 5:20, and the lights were already on in the other rooms. I really didn’t feel like getting up, but I know how quickly 7:00 comes and we need to be heading for the hangar. I ate breakfast on the run, packing and cleaning in between bites. We were thankful for Nason coming to help carry our cargo downstairs and load up the truck. It was about 7:15 when we left CRMF. When we arrived at the hangar, the security were there to let us in, but no workers yet. They arrived within a couple minutes, however. They weighed up the rest of our cargo, and we actually got off the ground about 8:45 and back to Owena around 9:15. We were thankful to get home early and be able to get everything unpacked and put away. We had an early lunch because we had had an early breakfast. Daddy had leftover spaghetti for dinner, and I had a meat pie. I was so tired, I went right to nap after dinner and slept a couple hours. People came and went most of the day, most of them getting things they had ordered from town. Julian brought a couple popo, Sakias’s daughter brought greens and cucumbers, and Taro’s daughter brought uxai. I was thankful there were hardly any dirty dishes this evening, as I really did not have the strength to wash them. I was thankful for a nice bath after cleaning out the bathtub. It looked like a mighty wind or an earthquake had shaken all the cockroach droppings out of the wall and scattered them all over the inside of the tub. But why only that area of the house and only the tub? That’s a mystery to me.
