November 19. Mrs. Surrett’s studies in Ruth have been such a blessing. Talked with Karen C a bit before Sunday school. Afterward, I asked Mary about Laura. She said that Laura had gone into labor early Friday morning and had the baby not long after that so they didn’t have to induce her. Praise the Lord. They are doing well. Slept like a log at nap time today. This afternoon, I called Jean and talked with her a little while. I was almost ashamed to call, it had been so long. She said she had tried to call us a few times, but must have recorded the number wrong in her phone. Also said that "K" has moved back in with them and has not been doing well at all. Promised we would try to come see them next Sunday afternoon, Lord willing. Today was not a good day for them as they are doing some rearranging in the house. This evening, Christy and Connie went out to visit with Kathy M. I did up the dishes and started crocheting one sleeve of the sweater. “15And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi: 16For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.” Exodus 17:15,16 Amalek is a picture of the flesh. We continually have war with the flesh. But Jehovah is our banner. The war is His and He will always triumph. “Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.” Psalm 60:4 And that banner is Jehovah. May He always be displayed in our lives. “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19b

November 16. Thankful for a pretty good night’s rest. Up by 6:00 this morning. Needed to wash hair and make a shopping list so we could go out shopping this morning. Shopped as usual at Aldi and WalMart, but then went to Mighty Dollar to get a few little items and to Lidl. Got home from shopping some time after 11:30. Put food away and then had lunch. Daddy went out to Subway to eat because there was no time to prepare a meal. I felt really tired out today after being on the go all week, but I think Daddy was more wiped out than I was. He went back to bed for a nap after breakfast and had another good nap this afternoon. This afternoon, I got gifts together. Also monogrammed the two turkey hats that Connie had made for her friend’s little girls. This evening, I made a headband to match the baby outfit for Laura’s baby. Started on the sweater for another baby. “The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.” Exodus 15:2 Thank you, Lord, for being my strength. I need your strength every day. Thank you for being my song. May my only song be of thee. Thank you for being my salvation. Without your salvation life would be hopeless. Thank you for being my God. There is no God beside thee, and may I never put any other god before thee. Thank you for being my father’s God. Help me to always exalt you. November 17. Seventy-three today. (Mom's birthday!) It seems like it has been a long week even though it was so busy. I keep thinking today is Saturday, but Christy is at work so it must be Friday. 😊 Today was laundry day. Even though it is only in the mid-forties, it felt so good to get out in the fresh air and sunshine, since we were bundled up nice and warm. While waiting for clothes to wash, I got Tuesday’s clothes folded and a birthday card ready to go out to Lonnie. After hanging out clothes, I finished sending out the rest of the e-mail October updates. This afternoon, I made a birthday card for a special friend, started on a crocheted bookmark, and worked on the baby sweater. The sweater seemed to be much too small so took it all out and started again with a one-size-larger hook. It still seems too small, however. Am I going to have to take it all out and start a third time? Connie made a lemon meringue pie for my bitrhday dessert. Received nice cards and money gifts from Daddy and the girls, birthday greetings from Ellen via e-mail, many other special greetings via Facebook through Christy and Connie, and a phone call from Cilla. “Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?” Exodus 15:11 Who is like unto the LORD? There is no other who is like him? God alone is glorious (of exalted excellence and splendour in His holiness; of perfect purity). He alone is fearful (to be held in awe; to be reverenced) in praises. He alone doeth wonders (miracles, marvellous things). November 18. Worked a lot today on the baby sweater. Yes, I did have to start over again. This was the third try. Had to take it out twice because it was too small. Otherwise I think it would have been nearly complete by now. Also swept our bathroom and bedroom floors, made cran-apple sauce, and wrote a couple e-mails. This evening, we played a game of Bible Baffle together. “And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.” Psalm 35:28 November 14. We thank the Lord for some sunshine today and a dry enough day to hang the laundry outside. Neither Daddy nor I got much sleep last night. I could tell Daddy was coming down with a cold. He kept clearing his throat with that very loud growl. Around midnight, I finally suggested that he get up and get some aspirin or something. Then I gave him the Vicks to use to help clear his throat. I didn’t hear him any more after that, but it was still after 1:00 before I got to sleep. After doing laundry and making up the bed with clean sheets, I deleted some e-mails, wrote a couple e-mails, wrote a thank-you note and put it out in the mail. Did a little Bible study. Ate lunch. And got ready to go to Cliffside for our medical exams for our PNG visas/work permits. Left the house around 12:45 and arrived at Dr. Green’s office a little before 1:15. Filled out the routine papers for a first-time visit. Then we were called back to start the examination process. By the time we left his office, it was 3:15—two hours for a routine physical. We were thankful that he wasn’t too busy today so they weren’t in a rush to get us in and out. We had no idea things were going to take that long. Stopped at the Cliffside post office to mail an overseas letter. We wanted to buy overseas stamps too, but they didn’t have any. Arrived home a little before 4:00. Very tired. Lay down for a nap around 4:30 and slept about an hour. Had supper. Did a little Bible study. Now I need to do dishes. “14And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage: 16….for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.” Exodus 13:14,16b It is only by strength of the LORD’s hand that we can be delivered from bondage. We are powerless to save ourselves. November 15. As soon as I had had breakfast and part of quiet time this morning, Daddy and I headed out for Piedmont Imaging in Spartanburg. Finished praying along the way. At PI, we had chest x-rays done—another step in the processing of our paper work for PNG. We stopped at Big Lots afterward to kill a little time and get something to snack on. Then Daddy filled up his mug and the gas tank at Pilot. Last stop before heading home was the place where we picked up the raw milk for the girls. Also worked on the crocheted Bible cover while we were on the road and now that is done. It was close to 1:00 when we got back. Had lunch and nap. Sent out a few e-mail updates. Had supper, did dishes, and got ready for church. Pastor Ogle’s teaching this evening was from Exodus 25:22-30, The Table of Shewbread, a picture of communion. “You must take Jesus, the Bread of Life, before you can have fellowship with God. Relationship precedes fellowship.” “21And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: 22He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.” Exodus 13:21,22 By day and night, the Lord went before them, He led them in the way, He gave them light, and He was always present with them. “And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.” Exodus 33:14 “….for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Hebrews 13:5
November 13. Very foggy morning, but the Lord sent us the welcome warmth of sunshine around mid-morning. Christy had the day off work for Veteran’s Day so it was going to be a day out with my girls. She went out to do her grocery shopping first thing this morning after breakfast. I wrote an e-mail, printed some Hobby Lobby coupons, and did some other little things while she was gone. After she got back, as soon as Connie was ready, we headed out to the stores. Christy made a stop at Ingles, and she and Connie went in to get some cheese and Pomi tomato sauce. Then we headed for Sandy’s Country Christmas where Connie bought several skeins of yarn and a couple little packets of embellishments. Christy bought one skein of yarn and some molasses. After that, we headed for Hobby Lobby where we spent quite a bit of time—too much time. It was going on 1:00 before we got out of there. Christy and I had gift cards to spend, and Connie wanted a few things for her craft projects. I bought a set of 24 watercolor paints and a dozen metallic paints, two pendants (to use for crocheted necklaces) that were in the marked down section, and two fall items from the 80% off section. All that used up two of my gift cards plus 75c. I still have one gift card left for later. The checkout lady was new and was needing lots of help especially with the different types of sales in the store. That was one thing that took so long for Christy and I to get checked out. Connie was in a different line and was finished before we were. I was pretty hungry by the time we got home. I whipped up some soup and had lunch. Somehow it was after 2:30 by the time we got settled down for nap. This afternoon, I finished my Bible study and added a few notes to yesterday’s journal notes. Had just gotten a sandwich made for my supper when "B" came with some yarn to have a baby sweater made for a special baby. Finally had supper and fixed up this past week’s journal notes and sent them to Connie along with a couple pictures. Then I did the dishes. “3And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten. 4This day came ye out in the month Abib.” Exodus 13:3,4 We make much celebration about our first birth, the day we were delivered from our mother’s womb. Wouldn’t it be even more wonderful to celebrate our second birth, the day we were delivered out of the house of bondage? This day of deliverance became the beginning of the year for the Israelites. Wouldn’t it be great to make the month of our spiritual birthday the beginning of another new year of our life? November 12. A cloudy morning, rainy in afternoon, and then a little sunshine before the day ended. Mrs. Surrett is teaching through the book of Ruth in Sunday school. It was a blessing, encouragement, and challenge to think on Ruth’s humility, unselfishness, and faithfulness to her mother-in-law as well as her faithfulness to the Lord. Pastor Ogle preached a very sobering sermon on Acts 5, “A Pure Church.” “Every person must recognize and root out any hypocrisy in his life.” This afternoon, I made some brownies, cooked a pot of veggies to go with Daddy’s dinner tomorrow in case the girls and I are still out shopping, and washed a mountain of dishes. Then we all listened to one of the messages from the missions conference at Westview. While we were listening, I worked on crocheting the Bible cover and finished the cover part and the bookmarks. Still need to do the latch and the handles. “One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.” Exodus 12:29 The Passover was the means of deliverance, or salvation, for the Jews from bondage in Egypt. All those who were saved were saved because of the shed blood of the lamb. The Passover represents the one way of salvation for everyone, whether Jew or Gentile. All men are in bondage to sin and Satan. All who are saved from sin are saved because of the shed blood of the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. There is not one law for one group of people and another law for others. There is only one way. There is no difference. “22Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:22,23
November 10. Was thankful for a better night’s sleep last night. Did feel that the cold is going down into my chest now, but a little vaporub kept me from coughing for which I was grateful. It was after 6:30, I think, when I got up this morning. The first order of business was to do laundry. The rest of the morning was given to getting ready the monthly updates that needed to be mailed, along with a couple thank you notes and personal notes. We received an e-mail back from John Gray letting us know what we need to do to be ready for getting our work permits. Apparently he had sent us an e-mail on September 22 as he just forwarded that e-mail to us – we had never received it before. Daddy printed out copies of the papers we need to fill out and also made doctor appointments for both of us for this coming Tuesday to have physicals. Then he went out to run some errands while I worked on the update letters. After my lunch, I washed up yesterday evening’s pots and pans so Christy wouldn’t have so many dishes this evening. Then I made sure letters and envelopes were ready for Connie to do folding, stuffing, sealing, and stamping. Was hoping that we would be in time for the letter carrier to take them but didn’t quite make it. Oh, well. We can try again tomorrow. This afternoon, Daddy and I worked together on filling out the application for entry permit. We weren’t quite sure how to fill in several of the spaces so will write and ask Bro. Gray. “The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.” Psalm 34:15 Thank you, LORD, that your ears are open. We don’t have to wonder if You hear us. We can know of a surety that You hear us. “14And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” I John 5:14,15 November 11. Down to 35º last night. Pretty chilly in the house this morning. Did something different this morning and looked at a lot of crochet patterns on line. Was actually looking for a lacy pattern for making a Bible cover, but kept running into other pretty patterns that would be so fun to make if I had time. Later in the morning, I prepared the rest of the potatoes, since they were sprouting, made a gravy with chicken bouillion and arrowroot powder, cut up the pieces of cooked chicken that I had thawed out, and made mashed potatoes with chicken gravy for Daddy’s dinner. After my lunch, I started crocheting the Bible cover, or I should say, continued crocheting, as I had actually started it last night, but didn’t like the stitch called for in the pattern. That’s one reason I was searching for crochet patterns this morning. After nap, I did a little more crocheting and then made next week’s pot of soup—sweet tater soup this time. I still have enough celery soup left for tomorrow, but Christy has Monday off work and wants to go out to Hobby Lobby and Sandy’s Country Christmas so I thought it best to get the soup done today. Much of this evening was spent crocheting more of the Bible cover. “20Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, 21And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. 22In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.” Job 1:20-22 Such a sobering passage with an example for us to follow. When Job was sorely tested, he did not charge God foolishly. He did not sin. He fell down and worshipped the LORD and blessed His name. How would I respond to this kind of testing, or to testing even half as difficult? November 8. Last night, I loaded myself with medications and went to bed as soon as the Benadryl started taking effect—about 10:00. Didn’t get up this morning until around 7:00. It took me a while to finish breakfast and quiet time and get around to doing anything else. Made a large pot of herbal tea. Looked for a birthday card for Cilla and got that ready to mail along with Pat’s which didn’t go out yesterday. Then Daddy and I spent some more time checking John chapter 7. It has some tough spots so it went a bit slowly. Made a pizza for Daddy’s dinner. Washed dishes while his pizza was cooking. Slept almost two hours at nap time. This afternoon, I got last week’s journal notes ready for Connie and sent them off with some pictures. Connie stayed home with me this evening while Daddy and Christy went to church. We wondered at first if we were going to be able to get tonight’s meeting livestream because it didn’t seem to be working, but finally after ten minutes or so, we were able to get a good connection. November 9. Thankful to the Lord that I am feeling quite a bit better this morning, except for a headache and a little nausea from all the medications. Looked at houses for rent in the Shelby Shopper online before going out shopping this morning. It was a chilly morning so I bundled up warm and off we went to Aldi and WalMart. I was thankful that a cold wind wasn’t blowing, and thankful for a lot of good produce purchases at Aldi. As we were pulling out of the parking space at Aldi, I noticed a familiar car pulling into the space next to us. I recognized Carolyn’s car by the EBC sticker and the God Is Good sticker so Daddy pulled over to the side; and as soon as Carolyn got out of her car, I got out to say hello. It is always such a joy to talk with her. She is so cheerful and delights in the Lord’s blessings. It was a blessing to have a few minutes to share God’s goodness together before she went on into the store and we went on to WalMart. It was about 10:45 when we got home. Glad we weren’t out long. I was already tired by then. After putting away groceries and making a start on getting thoughts together for our monthly update, I ate an early lunch and went for an early nap. This afternoon, I got the monthly update written, and Daddy proofread it. Then Daddy took Christy out to look at some new apartments with rent based on income. It doesn’t look like this will meet their needs, however. So we will continue to look and to wait on the Lord. Received an e-mail from John Gray this evening saying that we should make sure we have all our documents and medical reports finished. This was the first it had been mentioned, and we are not sure what documents we need so we have written back to ask him. (It turned out that an email had gotten lost in cyberspace somewhere and Mom and Dad had never received it.) Decided to turn the scarf I was making into a cowl and finished that this evening. Will wait until I wear something matching before I take a picture of it—it is red, white, and blue. “So the posts that rode upon mules and camels went out, being hastened and pressed on by the king's commandment.” Esther 8:14a We too have a commandment from the king, a message to take to every people in their own language, an urgent message that should be taken with haste, a message that means the difference between life and death. November 6. I did manage to get to bed by 10:00 and had a pretty good night’s rest, thanks to the Lord. We were thankful for the opportunity to work a bit on translation this morning—checking John chapter 7. It has been quite a while since we have been able to get to it. Have really felt like it is urgent for us to get back to that. Life has been so busy with so many other things, but we do need to make translation a priority. I know that once we find another home for the girls, moving is going to take up a good bit of time. There was leftover spaghetti in the freezer so I thawed that out for Daddy’s dinner and made spaghetti sauce to go on it. Right after we got up from nap, the phone rang. How nice to hear Beth’s voice and have a chat with her again! While I was talking with Beth, our neighbor, Michael, came to the door to say good-bye. He had just come back for his last load of belongings. Did the dishes before supper while C&C were out shopping. This evening, I transferred pictures to the computer from the Kodak camera and started fixing those, but have a ways to go yet. There were pictures in there that Connie apparently had taken that I didn’t realize were in there. Guess it has been several months since I have used that camera. “6Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments: 7And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. 8And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the LORD.” Exodus 6:6-8 “I am the LORD” x 3—the Trinity. JEHOVAH, the three-in-one Jehovah, is the LORD. JEHOVAH, the self-existent, eternal One, will perform what He has promised and will finish His work. The LORD was with His people at the beginning, in the middle and at the end. “I will” x 7—completion. JEHOVAH God will always do what He promises and will always finish His work. November 7. Damp and cloudy most of the day and a little rain. Hung laundry in the house. After breakfast and quiet time, I made a birthday card for Pat and put it out in the mail; but the letter carrier didn’t come today so the card will get there late for her birthday. When that was finished, I got busy making a pot of celery soup while Daddy went off to WalMart to get a battery for the car and pick up some bottled water and a couple other grocery items. Most of the rest of the day was spent transferring the rest of the pictures to the computer, and cropping, enhancing, and resizing all the pictures. Daddy and Connie went out late this afternoon to vote in local elections. Christy also went out a few minutes later to vote on her way to a work meeting. (Her work meeting turned out to be a painting party. Surprise!) I didn’t go out because I don’t seem to be making any headway in getting rid of this sore throat and earaches that I picked up just the day before we came home—actually it started Friday night. Sent Connie journal notes and pictures from the week before last. I love the ALL/NONE verses in Psalm 34. “1I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth…. 4I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears…. 6This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles…. 9O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. 10The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing…. 17The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. 19Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all…. 22The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.” November 5. Last night, we turned the clocks back, but I was so tired, I went to bed at 10:00 the old time. Shortly after I went to bed, I felt a burning, stinging sensation on my right leg. I thought it was just one of those “fire pains” I often get and that it would soon pass, but it just kept stinging. I finally rubbed it with my left foot, and the stinging calmed down. After that I went to sleep for about two hours, but later wondered if something had bitten me. I woke up very hot and kept getting hotter and hotter. I was hyperventilating so much that I kept taking deep breaths every so often to try to get enough air. Finally got up and folded up the big comforter and put it under my pillow so I could prop myself up more and see if I could breathe better. That seemed to help, and eventually I was able to relax and started cooling down to where I could get a few hours’ sleep. We certainly enjoyed our weekend with Chuck and Patty, but now it was time to pack up and head home. We got the car mostly loaded up before breakfast. Patty fixed us a good breakfast (again), and about 9:40, we all went outside. I took Chuck and Patty’s picture before we got in the van to head over to the church. We planned to go to Sunday school and church with them before hitting the road for home. The Sumners went to their car but were back in a moment at Daddy’s window saying that it wouldn’t start. 😊 They told us to go on ahead, and they would get Patty’s Mazda out and come in it. Sunday school was just starting when Daddy and I arrived. Before too long, I started feeling sick to my stomach and getting a bad headache. I finally had to get up and go out to the car. When Sunday school ended and Daddy came out, we decided we would just go ahead and hit the road. He went back in to let Sumners know, and Patty came out. We explained the situation to her, and she seemed to understand. We said our good-byes and went on our way. Praise the Lord for a safe trip home! When we made our first pit stop (at a Pilot station), we also got some lunch which we ate in the car before getting out on the road again. It was a delight to see sunshine for a couple hours along the way. Arrived back home in Shelby a little before 4:00. Didn’t get to have a nap in the car because the sun shone directly in my eyes whenever I reclined the seat to try to relax and get a little rest. By the time the sun was gone, we were getting close to home, and it was too late to go to sleep. The next couple hours were busy with unpacking, talking with C&C, having supper, remaking the bed, etc. Am tired tonight and hopefully can get to bed early again. “28And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him. 29And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel: 30And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.” Exodus 4:28-30 When God sends us to someone with a message, we must give them ALL the words of the LORD and not add to or take away from what God has said. November 3. A nice warm day, but cloudy and rainy. It rained hard during the night, but there was a pretty sunrise this morning before the skies became black again. Thankful for a good night’s rest. Didn’t need to hurry this morning as we didn’t have far to go. Daddy went over to WalMart around 8:00 to get a new headlight put in, but they said there was two hours’ wait so he just bought the part and came back to the motel. After my breakfast and Bible reading (and making a little tail for the lamb), we packed up and then went for a little walk so I could get a few pictures of the autumn trees before we hit the road a little after 9:00. Left the motel room keys with the man who was working at the motel, and gave him a couple tracts too. We felt a bit sorry for the Filipino lady who operates the motel. They don’t seem to have many guests, and the motel needs some repairs and remodeling, but she obviously doesn’t have the means. She had to deal with a couple situations that came up during our stay, but just took it in stride. At least the rooms were clean and comfortable. We tried to show her kindness in her distress. The sun peeked through a couple times as we traveled; but mostly it was cloudy, and there was some rain too. Arrived at the Sumners’ a little before 12:30. Patty had a nice lunch ready—homemade potato soup and whole wheat chicken sandwiches. After lunch, Patty showed me some of her crafts she is working on, and I showed her the baby blanket, bib, and lamb I had finished as well as a picture of the sweater, hat, and booties, I had completed at home. Then I lay down for a nap. Daddy and Chuck got the headlight put in the car and fixed the clothes rod, but they couldn’t fix my window. Boo hoo! The fuse tested good. Don’t know why the motor would have gone bad so quickly—it was new just last year. Chuck also tested the battery and said it is low and should be replaced soon. When they finished working on the car, Daddy took a little nap. Patty fixed rice and a nice chicken-veggie casserole for supper, and we enjoyed good fellowship with Chuck and Patty in the evening. “19And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand. 20And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go. 21And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty.” Exodus 3:19-21 God knows everything even before it comes to pass. God knew that our visa for PNG would not be granted in the time that we expected. However, God is still in control, and it is by His power that He will take us to PNG in the time that He has appointed. He will give us favor in the sight of those in authority, and it shall come to pass that, when we go (not if we go) we will go with all that we need. November 4. It was very warm last night. My throat and ears started hurting during the night, and I have already run out of echinacea. I do have a few extra cranberry and also have some ginger candy. Got Daddy up in the middle of the night to find me some ibuprofen. Patty fixed oatmeal for our breakfast, and we ate around 9:00. Afterward we sat around the table and chatted quite a while. Then I washed our clothes—hadn’t done any laundry since before we left home over a week ago. Thankful that we had brought extra clothing with us. Got into the computer to look at e-mails and write a couple. Haven’t had internet connections most of our trip so hadn’t written any e-mails before today. Had soup again for lunch, and more fellowship around the table. Nap after that, and then a walk through the woods, most of the way to the top of the knoll, with Patty. Took a few pictures. This evening, Daddy and Chuck went out to the church for prayer meeting. Patty and I chatted; she was working on embroidery; and I tried to do crocheting but was getting mixed up. Later in the evening, Daddy took our overnight case out to the car after we packed it up, and he saw that the light was on in the back. He wondered if the car would start in the morning. At Patty’s suggestion, he went ahead and tried it; and guess what. It wouldn’t start. We’re thankful for Chuck putting it on the charger so it will be ready to go tomorrow. “10And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. 11And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? 12Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.” Exodus 4:10-12 When the Lord has promised His presence and His power, we have no excuse for not being obedient to His commands. |
