November 13. Very foggy morning, but the Lord sent us the welcome warmth of sunshine around mid-morning. Christy had the day off work for Veteran’s Day so it was going to be a day out with my girls. She went out to do her grocery shopping first thing this morning after breakfast. I wrote an e-mail, printed some Hobby Lobby coupons, and did some other little things while she was gone. After she got back, as soon as Connie was ready, we headed out to the stores. Christy made a stop at Ingles, and she and Connie went in to get some cheese and Pomi tomato sauce. Then we headed for Sandy’s Country Christmas where Connie bought several skeins of yarn and a couple little packets of embellishments. Christy bought one skein of yarn and some molasses. After that, we headed for Hobby Lobby where we spent quite a bit of time—too much time. It was going on 1:00 before we got out of there. Christy and I had gift cards to spend, and Connie wanted a few things for her craft projects. I bought a set of 24 watercolor paints and a dozen metallic paints, two pendants (to use for crocheted necklaces) that were in the marked down section, and two fall items from the 80% off section. All that used up two of my gift cards plus 75c. I still have one gift card left for later. The checkout lady was new and was needing lots of help especially with the different types of sales in the store. That was one thing that took so long for Christy and I to get checked out. Connie was in a different line and was finished before we were. I was pretty hungry by the time we got home. I whipped up some soup and had lunch. Somehow it was after 2:30 by the time we got settled down for nap. This afternoon, I finished my Bible study and added a few notes to yesterday’s journal notes. Had just gotten a sandwich made for my supper when "B" came with some yarn to have a baby sweater made for a special baby. Finally had supper and fixed up this past week’s journal notes and sent them to Connie along with a couple pictures. Then I did the dishes. “3And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten. 4This day came ye out in the month Abib.” Exodus 13:3,4 We make much celebration about our first birth, the day we were delivered from our mother’s womb. Wouldn’t it be even more wonderful to celebrate our second birth, the day we were delivered out of the house of bondage? This day of deliverance became the beginning of the year for the Israelites. Wouldn’t it be great to make the month of our spiritual birthday the beginning of another new year of our life?
