April 22. Was awake a little before 6:00 again this morning and ready by 8:00 to head for C&C’s house. Waited for Daddy to get ready, and we left here around 8:20 I think. It was a blessing to be able to sit down and hear the testimonies, singing, and preaching from the early morning meeting as well as the late morning meeting. Jeremy Uhl did the preaching in the first morning, and it was a good message on trusting the Lord. It went along well with the testimonies that came before it. In the second meeting, Pastor Ogle preached on “My Attitude to the Brethren” from I Peter 3:8,9. “We must recognize that the gospel shouldn’t just impact the lost…, but should impact our church as well. In between meetings, I unpacked the other box of PNG items and set up the display shelf in the living/craft room. Also got some crocheting done while I was there, trying to finish a throw for Denise. After the others got home from church and we had finished lunch, Daddy and I headed back to the prophets’ chamber for our afternoon nap. We both must have been pretty tired (I know I was) as we slept about an hour and a half. This afternoon and evening, I did a lot of organizing and weeding out some of the card making and craft stuff. Also did the dishes and later some crocheting. “But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.” Joshua 7:1 We should never think that our sin only affects ourselves. The sin of Achan kindled God’s anger against all the children of Israel. Ecclesiastes 9:18 says, “Wisdom is better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroyeth much good.” How we need to be on guard and keep close to God so that we can so “no” to temptation!

April 21. Saturday. Pancake day. Fried a couple eggs to go with Daddy’s pancakes. Boiled five eggs for Daddy to have for snacks. Cooked some amaranth for my breakfast and also prepared a gallon of herbal tea for the coming days. Daddy washed the dishes while I was eating and having quiet time. Then we packed up a few items and headed to C&C’s house arriving there around 9:00. Cleared out two boxes of the girls’ things. Found a different afghan pattern, an easier one, and started on that instead of the one I had been working on. I thought it was going to be easy, but it has been going very slowly, with lots of going back to fix mistakes. The one I’m doing now is a lacey pattern and seems much easier. Around 11:30, C&C headed off to King’s Mountain for the ladies’ banquet at church. Around noon, Daddy headed off to Subway for his lunch and then back to our place to get my soup which I had forgotten to bring. After I had my lunch, we had our nap. This afternoon, I painted two bluebirds on the fence and worked some more on crocheting.
April 18. A very warm day. Came over to C&C’s house around 9:00. Except for a walk around the property for some fresh air and a short break, the morning was spent at the computer. Fixed journal notes and edited pictures and sent to Connie. Sent out all the e-mail updates. By the time all that was done, it was almost 12:30. Had lunch and nap. After nap, I started making the shopping list for tomorrow. After a text from Steve, I started looking at Gaffney eating places, but soon gave up on that. Too frustrating for me. Finished the shopping list. Then got spices together to take home to make soup tomorrow. Had supper and did dishes. Psalm 31:19,20, “19Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men! 20Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.” April 19. We were surprised how warm it was this morning. We had expected high temperature in the 50’s today, but it must be upper 60’s or low 70’s. Had quite a busy morning. Woke up a few minutes before 6:00. Had shower, breakfast, and quiet time, and started making soup as soon as possible—cream of celery and mushroom soup today. Put everything into the crockpot and turned it on so the soup could cook while we were gone. Wanted a few carrots in it too, but forgot to bring some from the girls’ place last night so would pick some up later. A little before 9:00, we headed out to do shopping. First stop was Big Lots to look for some 3-cup containers for Christy. A lady from Morning Star was on her way into Big Lots at the same time, and we enjoyed meeting up with her and talking a little bit. Then to Lidl as their organic produce was on sale today, and we like to shop there whenever that sale is on. Bought a few other items besides produce, of course, since we wouldn’t be going to Aldi today. WalMart was next. By then I had been on my feet for about four hours already so was thankful they have electric carts and I could sit down while we shopped. We were glad there were plenty of workers out on the floor who could help us find things we needed. What a mess things are in while they are remodeling! After WM, we stopped at the bank so Daddy could cash the money orders from CJJ, but there was no address on the money orders so he has to find an address and write it on first. Since we were going to go around and stop by C&C’s house to pick up some things, we decided to go to Ingles on Fallston Rd. and get some Breyers’ ice cream which was on sale. While we were there, a worker named Joe, who used to work at WM when Daddy was there, saw Daddy and came out from the meat department to say hello to him. Last stop before “home” was C&Cs. Dropped off the plastic containers for Christy, and picked up our half bag carrots, the blender, four jars to put soup in, and some essential oil for the diffuser. At last we headed home, arriving around 12:30ish. Put away groceries. Ate lunch. Cut up and cooked carrots. Had a little more to eat and started writing in journal while carrots were cooking. Added cooked carrots to soup which was now done. Brushed teeth and had nap. 2:00 when I lay down. 3:00 when I got up. Had a drink of water. Got out the blender and started pureeing the soup. Four quarts plus a large soup cup full. Drank the soup cupful (mmmmmm, good!) and set the jars aside to cool. The rest of the afternoon and evening, I wrote several e-mails and deleted bunches. Also washed up the dishes. “10For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. 11Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.” Psalm 57:10,11 Praise God for His great mercy and truth! May I greatly exalt Him and praise His glorious name. April 20. Was so tired last night. When I looked at the clock, I thought it said 9:30, even though it was only 8:30. Daddy and I read a chapter in Esther together and prayed. Then I started getting ready for bed. I wondered why Daddy wasn’t getting ready to shave and shower. He almost always goes to shave by 10:00. I was just about ready to crawl into bed when Daddy came in and exclaimed, “You’re going to bed at 9:15? “ “9:15?” I turned around and glanced at the clock. “I thought it was 10:15! I guess I’ll go to bed anyway. I’m really tired.” So I did. Slept until almost 6:00. Time to get up. It was going to be another busy day. Two loads of wash to do. Get things together to take to the girls’ house. Make sure all food and dishes were put away, and get mold bombs ready to set off. I went out to the car, and Daddy set off the bombs and ran out to the car afterwards. At the girls’ hosue, I checked e-mails and sent out the ones I wrote yesterday. Repacked all the PNG display stuff into a smaller box that fits under the buffet. Then went off to see Dr. Cook. Following our appointment, we stopped at the bank so Daddy could cash the money orders he couldn’t cash yesterday. They now had addresses on them. Then stopped at the prophets’ chamber to open up the windows and air out the house. After a stop for gas before the rising prices get too high, we headed back to C&C’s for lunch. Christy got off work early today so she took her nap first. While she was napping, I tried to fill in a form online for one of our supporting churches, but after a half or three-quarter hour, I couldn’t submit the form because they said it had errors. The form was for updating the church’s files. The Pastor sent a reply to our e-mail saying that his secretary will call us next week to get the information by phone. Christy was up by then so Daddy and I had our nap. Daddy just had a short nap so he could go back to the house and turn on the refrigerator that we forgot to turn back on this morning, and close some of the windows so the house won’t be too cold when we get home. After nap, I got herbs together to make tea when we get “home” Then I painted flowers on the tree on the blue shelf unit before having supper. Daddy talked with Amos this evening. He said things are going pretty well. “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” Romans 11:6 Praise God for His grace! Salvation can never be by grace plus works. It must be by either grace OR works. However, the Scripture makes it clear that no man can be saved by the works of the law. We are saved by grace, and by grace alone. “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” Galatians 2:16 April 16. Nice sunshine after the rain yesterday, but chilly and windy today. Daddy and I left the house around 8:45 and headed for our appointment with Dr. Cook. After that, we made a stop at Lowes for Daddy to pick up a kit to fix Christy’s toilet seat. Next we went to WalMart to get bananas, water, and yogurt, and exchange Daddy’s granola. Last of all, Daddy stopped at Verizon to pay the phone bill. Back to the house to pick up some food and other things to take with us to C&C’s. On the way there, we went to Family Dollar to get wood glue and a small silicone scraper, and then Dollar Tree for a clear shower curtain and a paint brush. Finally arrived at C&C’s close to noon. Daddy fixed the toilet (but it still doesn’t work right). I gave Connie some advice for fixing her little shelf in a less strenuous manner. We had lunch. I printed the monthly updates and envelopes for mailing them. We had a nap. This afternoon, Daddy hung some valances around the top of the wall in the little hallway between Connie’s bedroom and the main room. I put a second coat of sky and grass on the back of the blue shelf unit. Daddy and I put up the hanging shelf unit on the wall above the piano, and Daddy hung the other clock above the piano too. Then I painted the shelves with PNG colors—yellow on the bottom, red in the middle, and black on top. Christy went out to do shopping and then go to a class to get recertified for CPR. “7Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. 8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:7-9 Good advice still for us today. If we desire to prosper and have good success as God’s people in this crooked and perverse world, we must be strong; we must be very courageous; we must observe to obey God’s word; we must meditate day and night in the written word of God; we must not let His law depart out of our mouths; we must not be afraid or dismayed; and we must remember that the LORD our God is always with us. April 17. The morning was cold, but the day was sunny, and the afternoon was warm. Cooked some quinoa and zucchini for breakfast. Did two loads of laundry. Daddy washed the dishes. When laundry was done, we headed for C&C’s house. Daddy hung out the laundry. I did some more painting on the blue shelf unit, lightening the sky a bit and then making a fence. Helped Connie fix the shelf unit on the end of her work table, as she glued the parts together and tacked clear plastic on the back. Cooked some rice for our dinner and added tuna. Fixed coleslaw to go with it. Searched for tree pictures to get ideas for the background for the shelf painting. After nap, I finished looking for tree pictures. Daddy got the clothes in; and a little later, we took a little walk. Then I got March progress report written. After supper, I painted the woody frame of the tree; and, Lord willing, tomorrow, I’ll paint flowers on it. Then I did the dishes, and afterward we had our family time before coming back to the prophets’ chamber. Back at the prophets’ chamber, we hung up our dry clothes from today’s laundry, made up Daddy’s bed as we had washed his sheets this morning, and got a snack. Daddy put away the dry dishes too. “20But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me. 21But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.” Romans 10:20,21 Even though Israel was disobedient and refused to come to God by faith in Christ, God still has His hands stretched forth to them, ready to receive all those who come to Him, Gentiles as well as the Jews. “12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:12,13 Praise God!
April 15. It’s been a cloudy and windy day, but a warm day, with storms starting around 1:00, just as we were on our way home from church. Christy and Connie picked us up for church around 9:25. All the ladies met together in the gymnasium where Mrs. Ogle introduced a Bible study program that she has become excited about and wants to share with the other ladies to try to help them become interested in a good, organized, daily Bible study program.. She hopes to meet at least three times during the year just for an hour’s concentrated Bible study time. There really wasn’t enough time to cover everything she wanted to this morning. She said that several ladies expressed a desire to take part in the study time. I was glad to hear that. Pastor Ogle’s message from I Peter 3:7 was directed mainly toward the men, but had much meat for thought. The title was “Dwelling with Your Wife” and the theme was “To be right with God, you must treat your wife as the prized possession she is.” He gave a number of good illustrations from his relationship with his own wife. I appreciate how he always speaks kindly of his wife. We came right back here to the prophets’ chamber after church today, had our dinner and nap here, and did not go over to C&C’s house. There is a lot of work that I have been getting behind on, and need to spend time concentrating on catching up. Have gotten all the monthly updates for mailing ready to be printed when we go to C&C’s house tomorrow. Am thankful to have that much done. Made a different file for the ones that need to be changed to PDF and sent by e-mail. Daddy decided that we would go over to Morning Star for their evening service. We enjoyed the meeting there, and it was good to meet Pastor & Mrs. Linzy and a number of others who were there. The pastor was having problems with his allergies so one of the men of the church did the preaching tonight, giving an introduction to the book of Revelation which is what he started teaching in Sunday school this morning. Didn’t get back to the house until about 8:00. “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms….” Deuteronomy 33:27a How comforting to know that we have such a refuge! And that His everlasting arms are underneath! So if we fall, to where will we fall? Into the everlasting arms, ready to keep us from harm and to lift us up. April 13. Came back to the prophet’s chamber early last night since C&C had gone out for the evening. Just relaxed and crocheted a bit before bed. Was so thankful for a much better night’s sleep in a softer bed. This morning, I did a small load of laundry here at the house. Then we took the clothes over to C&C’s place to hang them outside. Spent a little time at the computer before going out to Dr. Cook’s a little before 10:00. Stopped at Dollar Tree and Family Dollar on the way back to the house. Found a few little things at Dollar Tree that we needed, but didn’t find anything at Family Dollar. It was nearly lunch time when we got back home so after relaxing a bit, we ate and had nap. In the afternoon, I made up a batch of Annie’s yummy brownies. Then Connie and I did more work in the living/craft room. Kept busy there until after 5:00. I had just finished supper when Cilla called. How good it was to talk with her again! Shortly after that we had family time and then got things together to come back to the prophets’ chamber. Wanted to come back early and get some things done here. Still had to unpack some of our belongings that we will need while we are staying here. April 14. Arrived at C&C’s a little before 9:00 this morning. Made a smoothie to complete my breakfast, and then finished writing the monthly update. Late in the morning, the girls and I went out to shop at Family Dollar and Dollar Tree. Actually, Connie was the only one who bought things there. We had planned to go on to Hobby Lobby from there, but Connie forgot the coupons. So we decided to go back to the house and have lunch first. After lunch we headed off to Hobby Lobby. Connie and I each bought a few things, but Christy had lots of things for us to look at. That’s her store. 😊 I just bought paints so I can paint a scene on the back of the blue shelf unit (Its back faces the kitchen). It was 3:00 before we got back home. Then Daddy and I had our nap. This afternoon and evening, I helped Connie decide where to put her butterfly wall decals in her room. Looked to see if I had copied down instructions for painting sky, but I hadn’t so looked for some ideas online. Also looked for ideas on how to paint grass. Washed the back of the blue shelf unit and put the first coat of background paint on it—sky and grass. Looks like it will need at least two more coats before I start painting any details. Then we had our family Bible reading and prayer time before Daddy and I came back to the prophets’ chamber. “Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.” Deuteronomy 33:3 What a beautiful picture! What a joy to sit down at the feet of the One who loves His people and holds them in His hand! And there to receive of His words. Just like Mary in Luke 10:39.
April 11. Thank you, Lord, for a lovely day. This morning, I washed sheets and towels and a blanket. We finished packing up our things and, around mid-morning, took them over to Morning Star’s prophets’ chamber. Got a few things unpacked there, but had to come back and make a dinner—chicken ’n’ gravy and mashed taters plus veggies I had cooked yesterday. This afternoon, we did a little re-arranging in the living room. Also straightened up the carport so the boxes are all piled up neatly and other items that are left out there are neater as well. Pastor Ogle continued his teaching on Esther this evening, covering the first topic “The Sovereignty of God.” He talked about several things that happened in the lives of Esther and her people, including: 1) Why does God allow bad things to happen? 2) How does God use difficulty in our lives? - God knows the end result. We must trust the unseen hand of God in the difficult times. 3) Can God use bad decisions for our good? Allow God’s forgiveness to help you move forward. 4)Does God force people to enter into sin choices? God knows what will happen, but He doesn’t make bad things happen. “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” Deuteronomy 31:6 Great advice and wonderful promises for God’s people today as well. Thank you, Lord, that you are with us, and that you will never fail us nor forsake us. April 12. It was late when we got to bed last night. Had to do a little unpacking first to find the things we needed for the night and for the morning. After shower, quiet time, breakfast, and moving my belongings to another room with a softer bed, Daddy and I headed out to do shopping. Only went to Aldi and WalMart today. Took groceries back to the prophets’ chamber, setting aside a few things to bring over to C&C’s place. As soon as we had groceries put away and a few things loaded into the car, we headed out. The first order of business for me after arriving here was to make a pot of soup—sweet tater soup today. Hadn’t had any soup for several days, and I was really missing it. Made it in the crock pot since the girls don’t have very many pots, and only one big one. Lewis did some whacking at the grass with the weed whacker. The lawn is getting really high, and no one has been able to cut it for us yet. This afternoon, Connie and I were able to make a good start at organizing the craft room. Daddy helped us hang a couple pictures, and I found some flowers to set on the kitchen table too. Then I had a bite to eat before pureeing and bottling up my soup. Drank a cupful of the soup too. Yum! Christy and Connie went out to “sit and stitch” tonight at the Parkers. “10And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles, 11When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing. 12Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law: 13And that their children, which have not known any thing, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.” Deuteronomy 31:10-13 How important it is for the word of God to be read publicly before God’s people—men, women and children—so that they may hear, learn, and fear the LORD, and might obey all of His word. April 9. Some rain during the night and early this morning, but not as much as we expected. As I was getting ready for our bi-monthly trip to Charlotte, I happened to think of my shoes. Water leaks in through the soles of the ones I wear most of the time, and my other walking shoes were in the suitcase in our van which Christy had taken to work today. So Daddy drove me over to Christy’s workplace where I found my shoes. Those are what I wore to Charlotte; but, as it turned out, the rain stopped, and I wouldn’t even have needed them. Oh, well. It took us a little less than a half hour to get to Connected Kids and back. Then I had about a half hour to finish getting ready to go. Had to take the rest of my breakfast with me in the car. There was lots of traffic today; and just when we got to the exit for TJ’s, traffic was stopped. Must have been an accident down the line somewhere. We were thankful we were getting off at that exit. After TJ’s, we headed for Dr. Schulman’s. We were a little early so Daddy parked at Neighborhood Walmart where he checked for water. Connie and I walked over to Dr. Schulman’s office, and Daddy drove around when he was done. There was no water (that we wanted to buy) at that WalMart. From Charlotte, headed home via SC where Daddy filled Christy’s car with gas and filled his mug with coffee. After we arrived home and Daddy had brought in the groceries, he went off to Subway to get some lunch, and I rearranged the fridge and freezer to make room for the groceries. After getting everything put away, I fixed a little lunch for myself. This afternoon, Daddy put up curtain rod hardware on the kitchen windows, and I hung the curtains. Praise the Lord for His help and safety today. Also for His help in finishing the shawl for Beth. “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” Deuteronomy 29:29 There are some things the LORD has not revealed unto us. Those are secret things that belong unto the LORD. The things that the LORD has revealed belong unto us and we are to be obedient to His words. April 10. Slept in a little later this morning. Up around 6:30 for shower. Spent the first part of the morning packing up my, and some of our, belongings to take to the prophets’ chamber tomorrow. Wrote one e-mail and started another. Then it was time to head out to Dr. Cook’s. After that, we stopped at the city hall to pay the utility bill, but they wouldn’t take visa so we’ll mail in a check. Next was banking business, and then WalMart to get water and a couple other little things. Saw the Scruggs at WM and talked with them for a while. Last of all, we drove over to Morning Star to find out where the prophets’ chamber is so we’ll know where to go in the morning. Talked a bit with Scott Wood who was working outside the church. This afternoon, I finished the other e-mail I started this morning and packed up some of our food. “11For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. 12It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? 13Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? 14But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.” Deuteronomy 30:11-14 Praise God, His word is not hidden from us, and it is not far off. His word is in our mouths and in our hearts and in the wonderful book called the Bible, and we have no excuse for not obeying God’s word. April 8. Back to cold weather again this morning. The parking lot was crowded again when we got to church this morning. Daddy dropped us off at the door and then went back around to find a parking spot. Pastor Ogle preached this morning on I Peter 3:1-6, Quietly Putting Up a Billboard, dealing with how the power of the gospel impacts those around us, encouraging the ladies to be like Sarah and to trust God no matter how their husbands respond. We got home a bit late after the meeting, for two reasons. First of all, there was a teachers’ meeting after the service so we had to wait for Christy as she was in the meeting. Then as we neared the Buffalo River bridge just before coming into Shelby, traffic had come to a halt. Apparently there was an accident up ahead somewhere. If we waited, how long would we have to wait? We were right at the left turn for Harmon Road so followed several other vehicles off that direction, particularly an electric company truck. After several turns, the truck led us to Caleb Road, and from there we knew we could get back on 74 near Marion Street. Even though it seemed like somewhat of a long way around, when we pulled out onto the access road alongside 74, we could see that there was no traffic coming from the east. So we were thankful we had gone around, or who knows how long we would have been waiting for traffic to move? By the time we had lunch and nap, it was already 4:00. In the evening, we listened to a Sunday school lesson about Joshua taught by Pastor Weiss. Joshua’s secret of success is found in Joshua 1:7-9, “7Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. 8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” April 6. Christy didn’t have to be at work until 7:00 this morning as they were just having a meeting for the teachers and staff. And she was also to do some cleaning. Daddy took her to work, as they had taken her car to A+ yesterday afternoon and left it there for a tune-up. I did a load of wash, and Daddy hung them out. Then at 9:15, we left for an appointment with Dr. Cook. After leaving Dr. C’s office, we went on up to Hobby Lobby to get yarn and magnets. Then over to Big Lots for a couple food items. Also found a nice string of spring flowers in the Easter markdown section and we bought those for Christy’s frog planter. Last stop before heading home was Mighty Dollar where we bought one more flower for the big planter by the door and a couple greeting cards. It was nearly lunch time when we got home. After lunch, Daddy had to go back to Christy’s workplace and pick up Christy. She had just a short workday today. When they got back, Daddy and I had nap. This afternoon, I got back to work on crocheting. Have a lot to finish before C&C have their tea party with the real estate ladies. This evening, it was Christy’s turn to do dishes so I did more crocheting, folded the clothes that were washed today, and looked for a place to buy reasonably priced curtains for the girls’ kitchen. “His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.” Song of Solomon 5:16 As I read the last portion of chapter 5 of this Song this morning, I meditated on how lovely my Saviour is. He is altogether lovely. How thankful I am that He is my beloved, and that He is my friend. April 7. Rain during the night and a little rain this morning. Wrote notes in a couple greeting cards this morning—one to be mailed, and one to take to church. Did a little cleaning up out on the carport and took some pictures of the flowers. Helped Christy decide where to hang her pictures. Made a new journal as there are just three pages left in this one. Cut up veggies and cooked them; then added the leftover chicken we had brought home from Ruby Tuesday’s the other day, and made the leftover mashed taters into tater dumplings to go on top of the veggie/chicken mix. That made a good lunch with enough left for dinner tomorrow. This afternoon, Christy and I marked places to hang pictures and small knickknack shelves in her room, and Daddy drilled holes and put screws in place to hang things on. I also looked online again for places to buy curtains; and of all the places I looked at, it seems that WalMart has the best prices. This evening, I made my rusty fingers play a little bit of piano. “3And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” Romans 5:3-5 Help me, dear Lord, to glory in tribulations, because I know that tribulation worketh patience, and You have said that I have need of patience (Hebrews 10:36). For through patience, I gain experience. And experience brings hope, which makes me not to be ashamed because God’s love is shed abroad (poured forth; poured out) in my heart by the Holy Ghost which has been given to me.. |
