April 16. Nice sunshine after the rain yesterday, but chilly and windy today. Daddy and I left the house around 8:45 and headed for our appointment with Dr. Cook. After that, we made a stop at Lowes for Daddy to pick up a kit to fix Christy’s toilet seat. Next we went to WalMart to get bananas, water, and yogurt, and exchange Daddy’s granola. Last of all, Daddy stopped at Verizon to pay the phone bill. Back to the house to pick up some food and other things to take with us to C&C’s. On the way there, we went to Family Dollar to get wood glue and a small silicone scraper, and then Dollar Tree for a clear shower curtain and a paint brush. Finally arrived at C&C’s close to noon. Daddy fixed the toilet (but it still doesn’t work right). I gave Connie some advice for fixing her little shelf in a less strenuous manner. We had lunch. I printed the monthly updates and envelopes for mailing them. We had a nap. This afternoon, Daddy hung some valances around the top of the wall in the little hallway between Connie’s bedroom and the main room. I put a second coat of sky and grass on the back of the blue shelf unit. Daddy and I put up the hanging shelf unit on the wall above the piano, and Daddy hung the other clock above the piano too. Then I painted the shelves with PNG colors—yellow on the bottom, red in the middle, and black on top. Christy went out to do shopping and then go to a class to get recertified for CPR. “7Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. 8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:7-9 Good advice still for us today. If we desire to prosper and have good success as God’s people in this crooked and perverse world, we must be strong; we must be very courageous; we must observe to obey God’s word; we must meditate day and night in the written word of God; we must not let His law depart out of our mouths; we must not be afraid or dismayed; and we must remember that the LORD our God is always with us. April 17. The morning was cold, but the day was sunny, and the afternoon was warm. Cooked some quinoa and zucchini for breakfast. Did two loads of laundry. Daddy washed the dishes. When laundry was done, we headed for C&C’s house. Daddy hung out the laundry. I did some more painting on the blue shelf unit, lightening the sky a bit and then making a fence. Helped Connie fix the shelf unit on the end of her work table, as she glued the parts together and tacked clear plastic on the back. Cooked some rice for our dinner and added tuna. Fixed coleslaw to go with it. Searched for tree pictures to get ideas for the background for the shelf painting. After nap, I finished looking for tree pictures. Daddy got the clothes in; and a little later, we took a little walk. Then I got March progress report written. After supper, I painted the woody frame of the tree; and, Lord willing, tomorrow, I’ll paint flowers on it. Then I did the dishes, and afterward we had our family time before coming back to the prophets’ chamber. Back at the prophets’ chamber, we hung up our dry clothes from today’s laundry, made up Daddy’s bed as we had washed his sheets this morning, and got a snack. Daddy put away the dry dishes too. “20But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me. 21But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.” Romans 10:20,21 Even though Israel was disobedient and refused to come to God by faith in Christ, God still has His hands stretched forth to them, ready to receive all those who come to Him, Gentiles as well as the Jews. “12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:12,13 Praise God!
