April 18. A very warm day. Came over to C&C’s house around 9:00. Except for a walk around the property for some fresh air and a short break, the morning was spent at the computer. Fixed journal notes and edited pictures and sent to Connie. Sent out all the e-mail updates. By the time all that was done, it was almost 12:30. Had lunch and nap. After nap, I started making the shopping list for tomorrow. After a text from Steve, I started looking at Gaffney eating places, but soon gave up on that. Too frustrating for me. Finished the shopping list. Then got spices together to take home to make soup tomorrow. Had supper and did dishes. Psalm 31:19,20, “19Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men! 20Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.” April 19. We were surprised how warm it was this morning. We had expected high temperature in the 50’s today, but it must be upper 60’s or low 70’s. Had quite a busy morning. Woke up a few minutes before 6:00. Had shower, breakfast, and quiet time, and started making soup as soon as possible—cream of celery and mushroom soup today. Put everything into the crockpot and turned it on so the soup could cook while we were gone. Wanted a few carrots in it too, but forgot to bring some from the girls’ place last night so would pick some up later. A little before 9:00, we headed out to do shopping. First stop was Big Lots to look for some 3-cup containers for Christy. A lady from Morning Star was on her way into Big Lots at the same time, and we enjoyed meeting up with her and talking a little bit. Then to Lidl as their organic produce was on sale today, and we like to shop there whenever that sale is on. Bought a few other items besides produce, of course, since we wouldn’t be going to Aldi today. WalMart was next. By then I had been on my feet for about four hours already so was thankful they have electric carts and I could sit down while we shopped. We were glad there were plenty of workers out on the floor who could help us find things we needed. What a mess things are in while they are remodeling! After WM, we stopped at the bank so Daddy could cash the money orders from CJJ, but there was no address on the money orders so he has to find an address and write it on first. Since we were going to go around and stop by C&C’s house to pick up some things, we decided to go to Ingles on Fallston Rd. and get some Breyers’ ice cream which was on sale. While we were there, a worker named Joe, who used to work at WM when Daddy was there, saw Daddy and came out from the meat department to say hello to him. Last stop before “home” was C&Cs. Dropped off the plastic containers for Christy, and picked up our half bag carrots, the blender, four jars to put soup in, and some essential oil for the diffuser. At last we headed home, arriving around 12:30ish. Put away groceries. Ate lunch. Cut up and cooked carrots. Had a little more to eat and started writing in journal while carrots were cooking. Added cooked carrots to soup which was now done. Brushed teeth and had nap. 2:00 when I lay down. 3:00 when I got up. Had a drink of water. Got out the blender and started pureeing the soup. Four quarts plus a large soup cup full. Drank the soup cupful (mmmmmm, good!) and set the jars aside to cool. The rest of the afternoon and evening, I wrote several e-mails and deleted bunches. Also washed up the dishes. “10For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. 11Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.” Psalm 57:10,11 Praise God for His great mercy and truth! May I greatly exalt Him and praise His glorious name. April 20. Was so tired last night. When I looked at the clock, I thought it said 9:30, even though it was only 8:30. Daddy and I read a chapter in Esther together and prayed. Then I started getting ready for bed. I wondered why Daddy wasn’t getting ready to shave and shower. He almost always goes to shave by 10:00. I was just about ready to crawl into bed when Daddy came in and exclaimed, “You’re going to bed at 9:15? “ “9:15?” I turned around and glanced at the clock. “I thought it was 10:15! I guess I’ll go to bed anyway. I’m really tired.” So I did. Slept until almost 6:00. Time to get up. It was going to be another busy day. Two loads of wash to do. Get things together to take to the girls’ house. Make sure all food and dishes were put away, and get mold bombs ready to set off. I went out to the car, and Daddy set off the bombs and ran out to the car afterwards. At the girls’ hosue, I checked e-mails and sent out the ones I wrote yesterday. Repacked all the PNG display stuff into a smaller box that fits under the buffet. Then went off to see Dr. Cook. Following our appointment, we stopped at the bank so Daddy could cash the money orders he couldn’t cash yesterday. They now had addresses on them. Then stopped at the prophets’ chamber to open up the windows and air out the house. After a stop for gas before the rising prices get too high, we headed back to C&C’s for lunch. Christy got off work early today so she took her nap first. While she was napping, I tried to fill in a form online for one of our supporting churches, but after a half or three-quarter hour, I couldn’t submit the form because they said it had errors. The form was for updating the church’s files. The Pastor sent a reply to our e-mail saying that his secretary will call us next week to get the information by phone. Christy was up by then so Daddy and I had our nap. Daddy just had a short nap so he could go back to the house and turn on the refrigerator that we forgot to turn back on this morning, and close some of the windows so the house won’t be too cold when we get home. After nap, I got herbs together to make tea when we get “home” Then I painted flowers on the tree on the blue shelf unit before having supper. Daddy talked with Amos this evening. He said things are going pretty well. “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” Romans 11:6 Praise God for His grace! Salvation can never be by grace plus works. It must be by either grace OR works. However, the Scripture makes it clear that no man can be saved by the works of the law. We are saved by grace, and by grace alone. “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” Galatians 2:16
