April 11. Thank you, Lord, for a lovely day. This morning, I washed sheets and towels and a blanket. We finished packing up our things and, around mid-morning, took them over to Morning Star’s prophets’ chamber. Got a few things unpacked there, but had to come back and make a dinner—chicken ’n’ gravy and mashed taters plus veggies I had cooked yesterday. This afternoon, we did a little re-arranging in the living room. Also straightened up the carport so the boxes are all piled up neatly and other items that are left out there are neater as well. Pastor Ogle continued his teaching on Esther this evening, covering the first topic “The Sovereignty of God.” He talked about several things that happened in the lives of Esther and her people, including: 1) Why does God allow bad things to happen? 2) How does God use difficulty in our lives? - God knows the end result. We must trust the unseen hand of God in the difficult times. 3) Can God use bad decisions for our good? Allow God’s forgiveness to help you move forward. 4)Does God force people to enter into sin choices? God knows what will happen, but He doesn’t make bad things happen. “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” Deuteronomy 31:6 Great advice and wonderful promises for God’s people today as well. Thank you, Lord, that you are with us, and that you will never fail us nor forsake us. April 12. It was late when we got to bed last night. Had to do a little unpacking first to find the things we needed for the night and for the morning. After shower, quiet time, breakfast, and moving my belongings to another room with a softer bed, Daddy and I headed out to do shopping. Only went to Aldi and WalMart today. Took groceries back to the prophets’ chamber, setting aside a few things to bring over to C&C’s place. As soon as we had groceries put away and a few things loaded into the car, we headed out. The first order of business for me after arriving here was to make a pot of soup—sweet tater soup today. Hadn’t had any soup for several days, and I was really missing it. Made it in the crock pot since the girls don’t have very many pots, and only one big one. Lewis did some whacking at the grass with the weed whacker. The lawn is getting really high, and no one has been able to cut it for us yet. This afternoon, Connie and I were able to make a good start at organizing the craft room. Daddy helped us hang a couple pictures, and I found some flowers to set on the kitchen table too. Then I had a bite to eat before pureeing and bottling up my soup. Drank a cupful of the soup too. Yum! Christy and Connie went out to “sit and stitch” tonight at the Parkers. “10And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles, 11When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing. 12Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law: 13And that their children, which have not known any thing, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.” Deuteronomy 31:10-13 How important it is for the word of God to be read publicly before God’s people—men, women and children—so that they may hear, learn, and fear the LORD, and might obey all of His word.
