November 12. A cloudy morning, rainy in afternoon, and then a little sunshine before the day ended. Mrs. Surrett is teaching through the book of Ruth in Sunday school. It was a blessing, encouragement, and challenge to think on Ruth’s humility, unselfishness, and faithfulness to her mother-in-law as well as her faithfulness to the Lord. Pastor Ogle preached a very sobering sermon on Acts 5, “A Pure Church.” “Every person must recognize and root out any hypocrisy in his life.” This afternoon, I made some brownies, cooked a pot of veggies to go with Daddy’s dinner tomorrow in case the girls and I are still out shopping, and washed a mountain of dishes. Then we all listened to one of the messages from the missions conference at Westview. While we were listening, I worked on crocheting the Bible cover and finished the cover part and the bookmarks. Still need to do the latch and the handles. “One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.” Exodus 12:29 The Passover was the means of deliverance, or salvation, for the Jews from bondage in Egypt. All those who were saved were saved because of the shed blood of the lamb. The Passover represents the one way of salvation for everyone, whether Jew or Gentile. All men are in bondage to sin and Satan. All who are saved from sin are saved because of the shed blood of the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. There is not one law for one group of people and another law for others. There is only one way. There is no difference. “22Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:22,23
