December 1. The Lord sent us sunshine today, but it was a much cooler day. I was up a little after 6:00, but it still seemed like it took a long time for the day to get started. The first thing I did after having shower and getting dressed was check the e-mails to see if there was anything from Daddy. Yes, there was. He gave more details on the story of the lost passport - as follows: I tried to send an e-mail from San Francisco yesterday, but it wouldn’t go. Will try from the Remington Hotel in Manila. Got in [Manila] around 3:45 A. M. They served 2 meals plus a snack. It was a very long 13 ½ hr. flight. It was a big plane. Carried about 370 passengers. The leg room wasn’t too bad though. Very good service on the Philippines airline flight. Got to hotel around 6:00 A. M. I went to give them my passport for identification, but I couldn’t find it. They accepted my NC driver’s license for id. I searched my carry-ons several times, but couldn’t find my passport. Called Bro. Hardecker using the hotel phone. He wasn’t sure what to do, but suggested I go back to the airport and retrace my steps and talk to security. In the mean time, someone at the hotel called the airport and the shuttle bus driver, but no passport. The shuttle bus runs every hour between the airport and the hotel. So I got back on the shuttle bus and back to where I exited the airport. As I was walking toward the terminal, a security guard asked me what I needed. I told him, I’m [looking for my passport], and he said to check the lost and found first. It was very close by. The receptionist took me back to the office where the worker was talking to a security guard. They were doing some paper work. She interrupted them and told them my situation. They asked me if I had lost my passport. I said yes. He said, Is this it? I looked at it and said, "Praise the Lord, yes it is." The security guard had just brought the passport in and they were filling out paper work for it. I signed it and they gave me the passport, and I was on my way. I called Bro. Hardecker and told him, and we had a praise time over the phone. ( I used the security guard’s phone). Bro. Hardecker had e-mailed you about the lost passport. He said he was going to e-mail you back about it being found. I wouldn’t have been able to continue my journey without it, plus I would have lost the use of my onward tickets. Bro. Hardecker had searched the internet and found out that the US Embassy could issue an emergency passport. So I was able to come back to the hotel and get some rest. Still have about 8 hours until my Moresby flight leaves. Praise the Lord for answering prayer so fast. Very unusual to find a passport at all, let alone so fast. Pray that you are doing alright. Don’t know when or if I will be able to send an e-mail again. Love you very much, and miss you and am praying for you. Lew Praise the Lord for answering prayer. He was prayed for as we were at church last night and several said they had been personally praying. I wrote him right back in hopes that he would get the e-mail before he left the hotel. Then I had my morning drinks and quiet time. While I was fixing breakfast, several texts came from Ellen. She wanted to know if we’d heard from Daddy. Also said that she had sent a couple texts to Connie. Connie had muted her phone yesterday and forgot to unmute it so she hadn’t seen the texts yet. They were about Esther and Kylie. Jeremy and family will be coming back to the states because Esther had another flare-up and needs medical attention. Kylie had been taken to emergency this morning, but was released later in the morning. They thought she had the same virus as the other kids, but it was affecting her differently. It was 9:00 before I finally had my breakfast. Again I spent most of my computer time on the newsletter, this time refining it and adding pictures. Just want to add some statistics or a missionary quote and then it should be ready for printing. Also wrote several e-mails and sent October and November progress reports to Pastor Ogle. Took a little break in the morning to do the dishes that didn’t get done last night. Some time this morning, we also heard a number of emergency vehicles close by. Connie saw in the Shelby Star this afternoon that one of the houses on the next street over, had a grease fire. The woman had gotten out, but the firemen had to cut a hole in the roof in order to get inside and put the fire out. No one was hurt as far as we could tell from the news article. Before nap today, we saw a Penske rental truck back up into our driveway and wondered what he was doing here. Was he supposed to be across the street to help Christine move? He got out and opened the back of the truck where there were lots of boxes, some big and some small. We knew we hadn’t ordered any furniture. He was spending a lot of time moving big boxes from the front and pulling smaller boxes out of the back. We finally went outside and said hello and asked the man if he had something for us, thinking maybe he had the wrong house. We didn’t want him to go to all that work for nothing. Come to find out, he was delivering a UPS package of vitamins to us. UPS didn’t have enough trucks for all their deliveries so had to rent trucks from other companies. Later this afternoon, I did some cleaning and reorganizing in the dining room. “15For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: 16To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? 17For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.” II Corinthians 2:15-17 Lord, may I truly be unto God that sweet savour of Christ. May I always speak the truth in Christ and never corrupt the word of God. Many need to smell a sweet savour so that they can be saved.

November 29. Not sure what time Daddy got up, but I woke up right at 5:30. Had a shower and got dressed, and then it was just about time for Daddy to leave. Mel showed up right about 6:00, and he and Daddy loaded Daddy’s suitcases into his car. Then they were off. It was very warm out there when I went outside to see Daddy off. Had started raining sometime during the night, and has been raining most of the morning. Shortly after Daddy left, I went into the dining room and saw that his phone wasn’t on the table. He had showed me his phone when I got up, and announced that it was left there for me. I looked all around, but didn’t see it anywhere. Had Daddy, by habit, picked it up and put it into his pocket before he left? I hated to wake up Connie again so early, but I wanted to catch Daddy before Mel left him so he could send the phone back with Mel. So I disturbed Connie again and had her call her Dad. Sure enough, he answered the phone. Said he would send it back with Mel. It was about 6:45 when I talked with him, and they were crawling along with the traffic by Gastonia. After that, I had my quiet time and breakfast. Wrote an e-mail to Pat. Got the October progress report done - FINALLY! I forgot to get the rest of Daddy’s notes from his time at Shalom so just wrote a little skeleton. It’s almost time for November progress report now, so got that one written this afternoon. It seemed so quiet around here today with Daddy gone. An occasional conversation with Connie, but no office companion. :-( After doing the progress report, I took a break and did some exercise, and took out all the trash and got it ready for pickup tomorrow. Then I got a birthday card ready for Lazara (her birthday was yesterday so it will be a couple days late). I don’t know where the morning went, but lunch time seemed to come so soon. Around noon, the clouds started breaking up and the sun came out for a while. By the time I got up from nap, however, it was all clouded over again. Late afternoon, the Lord sent us more blue sky and sunshine. This evening, I crocheted a couple tiebacks for Connie’s new bedroom curtains. “ For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” II Corinthians 1:20 Praise God that ALL His promises are yea and Amen! ALL God’s promises are true. They are sure. Yes, yes, yes. They will never fail. They can never fail. ALL God’s promises are Amen. They are firm. They are trustworthy. Amen, and amen! November 30. Last day of November. Only one month left in this year. Hardly seems possible. It was 6:30 before I woke up this morning. By the time I took my shower and washed my hair, it was after 7:00. So the day got a late start. Cooked buckwheat groats for breakfast. Had quiet time. Ate breakfast. Wrote just one e-mail, I think. Finished up the progress reports for October and November, proofread them so they are now ready to send to Pastor Ogle. The rest of my computer time today was spent writing the quarterly newsletter. Late getting that out because of all the time the past month being concentrated on getting things ready for Daddy’s trip. Put Connie’s tiebacks up for her curtains today. In the afternoon, I went out to bring the trash bin back to the back yard. Christine was sitting out and several others with her. I asked if she’d like us to come over and read the Bible with her. “No, I’ve got company. Maybe later.” She said she’ll be moving tomorrow so the best we can do is to keep praying for her. Late afternoon, there were sirens and thunderstorm warnings for this area, but the Lord broke the storm up before it got here. Other areas had tornado warnings. We are very grateful for the rain God sent us today. An answer to prayer. As fires have been burning out of control in the Gatlinburg area of Tennessee, a Bible page was found under a park bench. The whole page was burned except for this one verse - O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.” Joel 1:19 Surely there is a God, a living God, who speaks to men, who cares for souls, and who calls for repentance. We were thankful the rain had mostly stopped when we went to church this evening. There were a good number out for the meeting. Pastor Ogle preached on Exodus chapter 5 - Who Is God? “We must recognize God in every area of our lives.” God gives plenty of space for repentance, but judges a nation after it becomes blatantly clear what their true heart is. Everything Pharaoh thought he could control, God took away from him. If God were small enough for our minds to comprehend, He would not be big enough to meet our needs. Repentance is a command, not an option. Enjoyed fellowship with several people before and after the church meeting. Arrived home a little later than usual. Had several e-mails waiting when we arrived, including two from Bro. Hardecker in Manila, the first one saying, Dear Sis. Judy, Just wanted to update you on Bro. Young. He made it to Manila safe. The problem is that he lost his passport somewhere between the terminal & the shuttle. I am going to work with him to get him to the US Embassy so he can get an emergency passport. I will keep you informed of any updates. Please pray. Sincerely, Bill Hardecker and the second sent a few minutes later, Sis. Judy, So....Bro. Young retrieved his passport! Praise the Lord! He went back to the airport. They directed him to the lost and found section and as soon as he got there a man walked in to report a lost passport and it was Bro. Young's. What a huge blessing and answer to prayers. He will now be resting at the hotel. Sincerely, Bill Hardecker “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.” II Corinthians 2:14 How I love the ALL’S, the ALWAYS’S, the EVERY’S, etc. in the Bible. There is no circumstance or trial or any other creature that can keep us from triumph in Christ. Thanks be to God! And we pray that truly the savour of His knowledge will be made manifest by us in every place. November 28. A very chilly, cloudy day. And a very busy day, getting all the last minute things done before Daddy’s trip. After breakfast and quiet time, I washed a small load of clothes so all of Daddy’s clothes would be clean when he starts out on his journey tomorrow. Cleaned brushes and combs. Found yarn to send with Daddy for Mata and a hat for Neomi. Went and got a few groceries at WalMart and Aldi. Went out with Daddy for a sub at Subway. Started making up schedule for December. Helped Daddy with more packing. Washed and trimmed sweet potatoes and put them in the oven to bake. Made mushroom soup. Cut Daddy’s hair. Fixed him a toasted cheese sandwich for supper. Now my feet hurt. But I still have dishes to do. But first a little sit-down rest. This afternoon, after Christy’s nap, Daddy and Christy took her van over to A+ and he gave her a check for $800. Praise the Lord for his buying the van. After they got back, Christy went shopping. Daddy also put up a long curtain rod on Connie’s bedroom windows so she could get the valance put up. That makes the windows look even better. Helped Daddy finish up packing in the evening. “ Let all your things be done with charity.” I Corinthians 16:14 Update and Prayer Requests for Dad: Thank you for praying!
Praise the Lord, Lewis finally made it into the village Thursday morning around 9:00 (that was Thursday morning PNG time or about 6:00 Wednesday night NC time). Lewis asked us to pray that he will be able to get some source of power. The one who was staying in the house after we left kept the solar lights on all night long (from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.) so the battery is nearly dead. Lewis can get one solar light to work for a short time. He needs the power for charging his computer. He had also asked the people some weeks ago to send a diesel drum out to town whenever a plane came in so he could send in diesel fuel for the generator, but they never sent the drum out. The pilot who took him in said that he would try to send some diesel in later if they have a flight coming that way. Otherwise Lewis is doing well. They spent the day yesterday scrubbing down the house and making some repairs. On Saturday morning (this evening here), he is supposed to meet with Pastor Amos and the deacons to discuss his schedule for the time he is there. Thanks to all of you who are praying. Judy "I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing." (Exodus 34:26b) November 27. It’s been a good day with God’s people. Every seat in the ladies' Sunday school class was occupied this morning. Mrs. Surrett had us divide up into groups to study a designated scripture passage and write down the characteristics of the mother in that passage, what kind of influence she had on her children, and applications or principles from her life. Mary M had the curtains done for Connie’s bedroom and gave them to us this morning. Daddy had put the hardware up for them a couple weeks ago so we could take measurements, so Connie put the curtains right up this afternoon. How nice they make her room look! Daddy has to put up hardware now for the valance. Pastor Ogle preached from James 5:9-11, Joining the Heroes. “In order to please God as those who have gone before us, we must respond to trials as they did. Do you trust the integrity of God to bring you to the end He designed?” Adam, a student from Ambassador Baptist College, who will finish his training this semester, was given opportunity to preach this evening. He preached an excellent message on Ephesians 4:11-16, God’s Goals for the Local Church. “You must do your part to fulfill God’s goals for the church.” In verse 11, we see that God gave leaders to the church. However, a good leader is worthless without good followers. Therefore the leaders are responsible to make the saints perfect (mature) so that the saints can do the work of the ministry (everyone should be doing the work of the church), and the result of the saints doing the work is that the entire body of Christ is edified. “If only a few people are doing the work of sharpening all the others, they end up dull themselves.” Adam presented seven goals that God has for the church: 1) perfection (maturity); 2) action - do the work of the ministry; 3) edification - everyone to edify one another; 4) unity of the faith around Christ (v.13); 5) adulthood (children need to grow up and become adults; grow up into Christ) (v.14,15); 6) speaking the truth in love (verse 15); 7) teamwork (v. 16) “Are you doing your part to fulfill God’s goals for the local church, or are you being a hindrance?” At the end of the meeting, Pastor Ogle asked Bro. Clarke and Pastor Surrett to pray for Daddy and his trip to PNG. “57But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” I Corinthians 15:57,58 Because victory is certain through the Lord Jesus Christ, we must be steadfast and unmoveable (unable to be moved, firmly fixed or established). We must always abound (superabound, be in excess, superfluous, excel, exceed, enough and more than enough, over and above) in the work of the Lord. We can do all that because we know that our labour (toil that reduces the strength, trouble, weariness; implies pain) is not in vain (not empty, not worthless, not of little value or importance) in the Lord. November 25. Praise the Lord for another lovely day. It was a bit after 11:00 before I went to bed last night. After having an evening nap, I wasn’t tired enough to go to bed at the usual time. This morning, Daddy went off to WalMart to get the oil changed in the van while I did the laundry. The spin cycle on the washer does not seem to be working properly. I had to stop the machine and re-adjust the first load three times. The cycle finally finished, but did not properly extract the clothes so they were quite wet when I hung them out. Next time I’ll try doing sheets and towels in half loads. If the machine keeps giving us trouble, we’ll have to call a serviceman. The second load washed with no problem. Was able to get all the letters written to my students too, plus letters for Mata, Apekio, Erisapet, Yanahdo, Enauda, and Nuandauro. I think all I have left to do for Daddy’s trip is sew inside pockets on a couple pair of his trousers and cut his hair. Daddy was on the phone a long time around noon and after, trying to renew Microsoft Office before he leaves on his trip. He called Microsoft for personal help, was transferred to the correct department, and waited over 40 minutes for a rep. No one ever got to him so he hung up and called back again to let them know that no one was waiting on him. The man was very helpful and tried to help him work things out, but nothing would work. Ellen sent a text saying that it was a good thing we left early last night because when Melvin and family arrived, his children were all sick with the stomach bug. Poor things. After nap, we started out for a walk, but made a stop at “D” and “J’s” house to deliver their gift. “D” and “K” were sitting outside, and “J’s” daughter “P” was there. When I told “J” that there was a Bible in the gift bag, “K” asked if she could have a Bible. “Of course.” So Daddy came back over to the house to get a Bible for her. We never did get to our walk. Ended up talking with “J” quite a while. “K” was sitting there reading her Bible while we were talking. On the way home, I stopped and talked with Christine for just a minute. She was sitting outside by herself. Said they have not found a place to live yet. I told her we’d let her know if we see or hear of anything and to let us know if they need any help, but that Daddy will be going away on Tuesday. Daddy got out suitcases today, and we started packing a few things in them. They are about half full already, just with booklets, lessons, letters, gifts, and a couple other items to take to people in Owena. “1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 5And that he was seen….” I Corinthians 15:1-5a The gospel - good news, glad tidings of good things, good tidings of great joy, the gospel of peace, the power unto salvation, the fullness of blessing, the power to establish us, the preaching of the cross, Christ’s gospel, the gospel of God, the free gospel, the glorious gospel, the gospel of light, the gospel of salvation, the word of truth, the gospel of hope, the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious gospel of the blessed God, the good news we have received, wherein we stand, and by which we are saved, its story - the death of Christ, the burial and resurrection of Christ, seeing the resurrected Christ. What a wonderful gospel! November 26. A little cooler today, but still a nice day. This morning, I cooked a pot of amaranth and baked some pork chops for breakfast. A little after mid-morning, the girls and I went and did a little shopping at Sandy’s. In the afternoon, Daddy and I took a couple bags of items down to the Crossroads Mission Thrift Store. After we got back home, I made a big pot of herb tea. My stomach hasn’t been too happy today. I did get inside pockets sewn into Daddy’s trousers today so am thankful that job is done. November 24. Thanksgiving Day. And we do have so much for which to be thankful, not just today, but every day. The Lord gave us a lovely, warm day today. It was already 50-some degrees when we got up this morning and didn’t take long to warm up to the low 70’s. A cool wind came up mid-afternoon and temperature went down a little. The day started with shower and hair-washing. After quiet time and breakfast, I finished up my blessings list and printed it out. Then there was cran-apple sauce to make to take for dinner today. Daddy and I took a late morning nap before we headed off to Ellen’s It was good to see Ruth and Tim. Ruthie brought me a little surprise birthday gift - an oldie picture of her and me. Mary Ellen and David and the children also came for dinner. There was plenty to eat, and afterward everyone seemed to be sleepy. We did play one game - matching verses and references related to giving thanks. Melvin, Jenny, & family were supposed to come later, but still had not come when we left for home around 5:00. Had a little something to eat after we got home and then took another nap. “4Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 8Charity never faileth...: 13And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” I Corinthians 13:4-8,13 I always need a reminder of how charity should behave. So many people need to know that they are loved, by God, and by those who love God. May I be an example of the love of God and Christ so that others may want to know Him. November 22. Early this morning, Daddy took Christy’s van over to A+ to get it checked out before she sells it. With his diagnostics, he found four things that need attention. He said that she could probably get $1500 out of it if she tries to sell it herself, and then he offered to give her $800. She doesn’t really want to sell it herself in case trouble shows up right after she sells it and the buyer wants his money back. While Daddy was gone, I checked over more of the ladies’ lessons. Then Daddy and I went out for the day. First to Dr. Prime. Then to the bank. After that, we headed for Gastonia, stopping first at Verizon to pay the phone bill. It was already 11:00 before we were on our way to Gastonia. We stopped at Big Lots there to see if they had any of the large boxes of wheat thins. They didn’t, but I did find some Popcorners snacks and some of the sparkling fruit drinks. Next stop was to be Goodwill Thrift Store on the other end of the shopping plaza, but on the way there, we saw that a new grocery store had opened where the Latino store used to be. We decided to go in there first and take a look. We were warmly welcomed by workers. A number of the workers were Hispanic. The store has been remodeled and looks very nice. There was a lot of fresh produce, and we found dozens of nice papaya. We bought two - one for Connie and one for us. We looked around the rest of the store too, but didn’t buy anything other than the papaya. After that, we went to the thrift store. Found a couple heavy-weight pillow shams there to use for covering my church chair. Saw a desk we wanted to get too, but it was just a few inches too long for the little space we have for one. Didn’t find a desk the right size at ValuVillage either, and their furniture was more expensive anyway. The only thing we bought there was a large plastic cup to replace the small one in our bathroom that we use for rinsing the tub. We went to Golden Corral for lunch and then to another store to buy a few things that we saw on the internet were available there. Most of what we wanted was not available at that particular store, but we did find a camera, cookies for Daddy, and a couple bottles of carrot juice for me. After that, we were tired and headed home. We did make a stop at Ingles in Kings Mountain to look for some organic meat. Found some vegetarian fed, hormone and antibiotic free pork steaks for myself (not organic) and some organic chicken legs for Connie. Was hoping to find some lamb, but the little bit they had was much too expensive. Finally arrived home around 4:00. Got the car unloaded and food put away and talked a bit with the girls. It was after 4:30 when we lay down for a nap and about 5:15 when I got up. I thought C&C would already be gone because they were supposed to pick up Cindie, but they were still here. Cindie wasn’t feeling well so wasn’t able to go. C&C left around 5:30 for the pie part of the Pie and Praise Service. After they left, I had a bite of supper and then did the dishes. Daddy and I left around 6:30 for the Praise service which lasted almost two hours. There were a lot of good testimonies. The meeting ended with the reading of Psalm 103 responsively with Pastor Ogle. After the meeting, I enjoyed talking a bit with Lazara. Then Bro. Norm Stevens came along and we talked with him for a good while. He and Debbie are with the Howards for Thanksgiving. It was probably around 9:15 before we left Kings Mountain. “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” I Corinthians 11:1 November 23. Praise the Lord for helping me to finish proofreading the ladies’ lessons this morning and get copies printed out to make up two folders for the ladies to use in teaching. In the early afternoon, before nap, we took a gift across the street with a few household items and the Bibles for Duck and Christine. We asked his friend if he would like a Bible too; but he responded that he already has some. “As a matter of fact, I have a couple right here in the car.” We told him it’s a good book to read and obey. Told Duck to let us know when he would like us to come over and read again. Daddy and I then had our nap. After nap, Daddy went off to visit Ted at Peak Resources nursing home. Christine called over to me to say thank you and I went over to talk for a minute with her. She said they haven’t found a place yet to move to. I told her we are praying for her and that God loves her and we love her to. Gave her a hug before coming back to the house. After that, I put together the gift packets for Daddy to take to my school students. Now I need to write letters to go with the packets. “1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.” I Corinthians 13:1-3 No matter how well I can speak, if I don’t have charity, I cannot effectively influence others to be saved. No matter how well I understand God’s word or how much knowledge I’ve gained or how much faith I have, if I don’t love my neighbors or others the Lord brings across my path, I will not win them to Christ. No matter how much I give to others or how great a sacrifice I may make, if I don’t have charity, my service for the Lord will be of no profit. I could be a poor speaker, with little understanding and knowledge, and a faith that may be small; I could give something small and sacrifice if needed, as long as I genuinely love others, souls can be won for Christ. Lord, give me love and compassion for souls. November 21. Quite chilly again this morning - about the same as yesterday. A cold wind blew most of the day, and people stayed indoors. Stomach still having its ups and downs today. Fighting a bad headache too. Daddy went out this morning to run a couple errands. I made labels to put in the Bibles we bought for the neighbors. Then found gift bags and filled them with various items to go along with the Bibles - dish towels and or pot holders, dish soap and scrubby, trail mix. And we have cheese sticks to go in the bags too, whenever we are ready to distribute them. Completed the last of the ladies’ lessons today - at least for now. Praise the Lord for His help with all these projects. Just need to proofread and then print them out for Daddy to take with him. Only a week left to get everything done. Need to write letters to my students and a few others next. That should be my last project for his trip. Update on Dad's trip:
Dad has arrived safely in Papua New Guinea. Everything went well for his flight, his visa and his luggage. We praise the Lord for that. He did not get to Goroka, however. He is still in the capitol city of Port Moresby. There is major construction going on at the airport in Goroka as they are lengthening the strip to allow longer planes to land. Flights into Goroka have been cancelled. It is now about 6:00 a.m. Saturday morning in Papua New Guinea. They are supposed to be allowing some flights into Goroka today. Dad is heading to the airport in Port Moresby now to see if he can get a flight into Goroka. Please pray that a flight will open up for him today and for another safe flight. Dad is scheduled to fly into the village of Owena on Tuesday, so he needs to get to Goroka so that he can shop for supplies first. Thank you so much for praying! Update Tuesday, December 6th. Thank you for praying! Dad did make it into Goroka and had about two days to shop for supplies. He should be heading into Owena sometime Wednesday morning (Tuesday afternoon or evening our time). Please pray for safe flying, landing, and take off. Thanks so much! |
