February 6. Praise the Lord for a better sleep last night! And what a beautiful day He gave us today! We did not go to Charlotte today. Connie was not feeling well enough so she called and changed her appointment to two weeks from today. Next week she is supposed to report for jury duty. We hope that she is either feeling much better by then or they will dismiss her. Since we didn’t go to Charlotte, Daddy and I left around 8:30 to do some shopping in Gastonia. Stopped at Neighborhood Market in KM on the way and picked up a few groceries there. Next stop was Big Lots and last was Aldi. By then it was about 11:30 and we were hungry so went to eat at Golden Corral. On the way home we made a stop at Pilot in Blacksburg to get gas. It was a tiring day for me, the first day I’ve been out any length of time in a couple weeks. I was very thankful to get home, get some of the food put away, and have a nap. Slept for about 1 1/4 hours. After nap, I rearranged things on our food shelves so I would have room to put the rest of the food away. Got journal notes fixed up and sent off to Connie. Today I also started on a liver cleanse which I’m hoping will help with some of my digestive issues. February 7. Thankful for another warm day that the Lord gave us. It was another busy day too. After breakfast, I did a load of laundry. Then I got busy making soup so I could get that done before we went out and would have something for lunch when we got back. We had to go to WalMart to get a few things we didn’t get yesterday. Also stopped at Verizon to pay the phone bill and went to GNC to pick up a couple supplements for Connie. Then to Mighty Dollar to look for some spices we’d been wanting (found chives but not marjoram) and some anniversary and birthday cards. Finally made it to WalMart, picked up the items we needed, and headed home, ready for a hot cup of soup and an afternoon nap to refresh the body. After nap, I brought in clothes, folded a few clothes that were washed the other day, revised John 16, printed a few thank you letters for supporters and sent a few others via e-mail. “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.” Philippians 3:10 Three things I desire to know: Him (Jesus Christ), the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings. I can know these things as I am made conformable to His death, although I’m not sure I understand the full meaning of that conformity.
