October 6. Today we didn’t go anywhere. The first thing we did was laundry so we could get that done before the staff came to work. After my Bible reading, breakfast, and prayer time, I wrote a short e-mail and sent the progress report to Pastor Ogle. Then spent a good while in Bible study. There was a lot to learn from the last few verses of Numbers 14. The Lord taught me a lot from that whole chapter. Afterward, we went outside for a while, but I did not stay out long. There wasn’t much sunshine, and a cool wind was blowing. Spent a little time painting before dinner and this afternoon. The Lord gave us only a very short period of sunshine today, and that was early this morning. We had to heat water for dishes this evening, but that is nothing strange to us as we do that all the time at home. This evening, we tried to listen to another message from ABC’s mission conference, but could not get a good enough connection. So I did more work on adding the Old Testament verses to the culture course. October 7. A little shopping again this morning. We’re going to try to cover one or two stores a day (when we don’t have laundry or something else important to do) and pack up items to take home so we don’t have too much to do at once just before we go. Today we went to SengDa. We were thankful to find a parking space. It took us about two hours to get through with our shopping there. The store was CROWDED. Lots of close people contact even though they had masks on. Went upstairs first. Talked with David a bit. He asked for more tracts so I gave him most of what I had in my pocket. He has good opportunities with other security and with store employees. He wants to come Sunday to see us and have Bible study and get more tracts. After greeting David, we went to the back and picked out yarn. Then we got a couple soup bowls to use here at the apartment. Downstairs, we waited a while so Daddy could get an empty shopping cart. All the carts were used and dozens of people were in line at the checkouts. Carts were being grabbed up as soon as they were empty. Daddy finally got a cart and we went around and bought groceries. Then we came back to the flat. Put some things away and packed most things away. It wasn’t long before dinner time. I washed up the soup bowls we had bought and heated up some of the soup, and we both relished a bowlful. After dinner, Daddy went out to buy a few more groceries we still needed, and I took a short nap. There is no butter anywhere in town. Now what will we use in its place? After nap, I did a little painting and also before washing dishes this evening. We were thankful for more sunshine today, but it will take another full day of sunshine to get the water good and hot again. This evening, after washing dishes, I started writing the monthly update. “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14:26)
