A Special Praise -- Mom and Dad's sponsor has their paperwork in hand. Praise the Lord! They can now go forward with all the other things necessary to prepare to go to the field, such as purchasing tickets and so on. Please pray for wisdom for them in these things. Thank you very much! September 16. Independence Day in PNG. A very rainy day here, but we are thankful that we didn’t get any really severe weather here from Florence. We didn’t go out today. Listened to EBC’s first service livestream. Pastor Ogle preached on Why We Should Give to Missions, using Philippians 4:10-19 as his text, showing how giving not only brings forth fruit through the life of the missionary, but it brings forth fruit that abounds to the account of the giver. EBC dismissed after Sunday school as they were expecting more severe weather Later in the morning, we listened to a message by Pastor Weiss entitled “These All,” a sermon from Hebrews 11:32-40, talking about how some, by faith, obtained great victories, and others, by faith, suffered great persecution and affliction. No matter whether we see God do great things or whether we see great trials of affliction in our lives, if we are living by faith, then we will receive a good report through faith. We should not say to ourselves, or to someone else, “I guess I just don’t have enough faith,” or “you probably just don’t have enough faith.” Faith doesn’t always see great victories, but a life lived by faith will still obtain the same promise. Both those who saw great victories and those who saw trials and persecutions did not obtain the promise “that they without us should not be made perfect.” They were all commended and approved because of their faith in God. I also got the August progress report written which I had nearly forgotten and did a little crocheting this morning. This afternoon, I did painting and pretty much completed the project I’ve been working on. I just need to figure out how I can cover up the mistakes before I can finish the last part. I do believe my white paint is much too thin as I have put four or five layers over the mistakes, and they still show through loud and clear. Will have to find some less transparent white paint. This evening, I searched for some free pictures that I could do paintings from; also searched previous picture files of my own. Did the dishes, Listened to a sermon by Pastor Kuykendall of Zion Baptist Church in Gastonia.
