May 11. A special day -- Christy’s birthday and also her graduation day from Cleveland Community College. Christy had to be there early so left around 5:00. Daddy and Connie left around 6:30 for the program which is scheduled to start at 7:00. I opted out since it is so hard for me to both stand or sit for any length of time. I just finished doing the dishes (quite a stack of them) and now it is time to sit down for a while and relax. Didn’t get to do much at the computer today - just a little bit of work on the Matthew file. This morning, Daddy and I went out to finish up the shopping. Daddy wanted to stop at Verizon first to pay his phone bill; but when we got there and saw it was closed, he remembered that it doesn’t open until 10:00. So we scooted across the street to Big Lots, picked out some sparkling juice drinks for Friday and a few other things, and then just dawdled around there until almost 10:00 before we checked out. Back across the street to pay the Verizon bill (which didn’t take very long) and then on to WalMart to get a few things. We were thankful to find some cheesecakes and mini cupcakes marked down. Picked those up for Friday’s party. And we were happy to find a Congratulations Grad balloon. It needed a bit more helium, but WalMart was all out and had been for a week so we brought it home as is, which isn’t too bad. Couldn’t find a Happy Birthday helium balloon, but found one on a stick so got it. After we got home, I attached the helium balloon to the weight I had saved from our welcome home balloons in November and stuck the birthday balloon in the center of the weight. Put those out on the front porch next to the mailbox. Then I rearranged the fridge and freezer so I could get everything in it that needed to go in. After that, I prepared and cooked a bunch of broccoli that had been in the fridge a while, and thawed out some spaghetti and meat that I took out of the freezer. We had the spaghetti for dinner along with the rest of the salad I had made yesterday. Put the broccoli away in the fridge for tomorrow. After nap, I cleaned the last two boxes out of the living room. Hooray! Praise the Lord for His strength and help. By then I was feeling weary because of the heat and humidity so sat down to work on Matthew until supper time. Right after supper, I did the dishes. “9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:9,10
