July 13. Praise the Lord for sending us a good rain late yesterday evening. Don’t know how long it rained, as I was asleep before it stopped, but it was much needed, and we are thankful for it. Slept well and slept in a little later this morning. The morning went by so quickly. Had early morning drinks and quiet time. Didn’t have anything left for breakfast other than a piece of chicken so needed to cook some veggies—a skillet full of mushrooms, zucchini, and onions with other herbs. After eating breakfast, I sat outside in the refreshing morning air and had more prayer time. Then I managed to do six laps around the driveway, walking of course. Came inside and had a drink. Then started making the weekly soup. It was already going on 11:00 by the time that was on cooking. By then, I needed something else to eat so threw together a smoothie. And by then, I was ready to get off my feet and sit down. I was supposed to make a meal for Daddy today, too; but he was thoughtful and went out to Subway. Acknowledging supporters and sending out June updates by e-mail took much of the afternoon. Late afternoon, the soup was done; and after it cooled a bit, I pureed it and added a little to the bit of leftover soup and had it for supper. This evening, my eye was hurting from the fan air blowing in it so I didn’t really feel like doing much. Tried doing a little crocheting, but that was eye work too. July 14. This morning I cooked up a pound of grass fed angus beef and had some with my zucchini and mushrooms for breakfast. After breakfast and quiet time, I went out with the girls to market. There wasn’t a whole lot of choice of veggies, but I was thankful to find some organic yellow squash for $0.50 each. The people who had the organic veggies had a beautiful russet and white cocker spaniel named Ranger who enjoyed attention and being petted. Also bought a nice little cantaloupe and some fresh peaches. The girls bought a bunch of stuff. Then we stopped at Dollar Tree on the way home so Connie could get some items that she needed. As soon as we got home and I had put food away, I made myself a smoothie. Didn’t work at computer today because my eye still hurts, and the air still seems to be blowing in my eye. Used a fair bit of time crocheting, as one doesn’t have to look at the work all the time. Later in the afternoon, Christy took me out to Hobby Lobby to get some fine point paint brushes. Certain painting supplies were on sale for 50% off so got a good deal on the brushes. After supper, I cleaned off the kitchen table and took the table cloth off one end to make room for computers. “44And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand. 45There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.” Joshua 21:44,45 Although I’ve noted these verses before as I passed through Joshua in my own personal Bible reading, these same verses were a blessing to me again yesterday evening during our family Bible time. What other God is there so faithful and true to fulfill all His word and to give good things unto His people? O God, who is like unto thee?
