March 20. First day of spring, but felt more like winter after the beautiful warm weather of the past couple weeks. Christy and Connie rode to church with us this morning since Cindie was too tired to go. Mrs. Surrett began a lesson today on shaping up your home management skills, dealing with the woman’s God-given role as a wife and home-maker. Pastor Ogle’s text this morning was James 1:9-12, continuing his teaching on trials and how both the poor and the rich will face trials, but both will be happy if they endure and will receive the crown of life which God has promised to them that love Him. This afternoon, I finished the letter to David and Amos and then wrote a short letter to Mike. This evening, Christy and Connie had to pick up Cindie for church, so they left early. As Daddy and I were on our way later, we received a call from Christy and Connie saying that they were stopped along the side of the highway with car trouble. We finally found them on the other side of Oak Grove Road and stopped to see what was wrong. Their front right wheel had started wobbling quite badly. Cindie climbed into our van, and we took her to church while Christy and Connie waited for AAA to take them to Chapin’s house where Jeremy will look at the car. We were late getting to church and also missed a lot of the message because of texting back and forth to C&C. What parts we did hear came from a very good message on the law - divine law and natural law - and on relativism, and so forth. After church, we followed Mary to her house where we picked up Christy and Connie. “7Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book…. 12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be…. 20He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation 22:7,12,20
