March 10. It is going on 6:45 p.m. This is the first time today I have gotten to sit at a computer. Actually, I haven’t done much sitting at all today. I started the day with Bible reading and a couple cupfuls of tea as my usual Wednesday morning goes. Also started the laundry going early, and started making a few pancakes for my breakfast. Used the time to pray while clothes were washing and while I was making pancakes. All that was done with numerous trips to the door when knock, knock was heard. With all that, it was after 9:00 before I was finally able to sit down and eat my breakfast, and going on 10:00 before I finally got the clothes hung out. There was even a knock at the door while I was out back hanging clothes. After that, I did get to sit down for a while. Spent my sitting down time trying to finish up the hem on the dress that I had shortened. The skirt of the dress was quite full so the hemming job took quite a while. I didn’t finish the hem in the morning because it was too much close work to do all at once. I had been wanting, since Daddy left, to make some cookies; so before dinner, I spent my time in the kitchen making some ginger crinkles. Before I ate, I went out and brought in the dry clothes. After dinner, I brought the rest of the clothes in, did a little more hemming until nap time, and finished the hem after nap. Then I made more cookies — chocolate chip cookies this time. Daddy has been wanting chocolate chip cookies for a long time so I hope he will like them. Two special things that came to the door today. Bananas, for which I prayed, came in the hands of Erovi. Just one hand of a dozen bananas, but I was so thankful for those. Now I can have a banana in my smoothie in the morning. A smoothie just doesn’t taste right without a banana. This evening some large potatoes came in the hands of Yunis. Two or three times as large as the biggest that we usually get here in Owena. I was excited to see those. Thank you, Lord, for those special gifts. And then this evening, the time I look forward to, talking with my best friend. How I look forward to his return! and how I pray for good weather tomorrow! And a safe flight too. And how I also look forward to the return of my very best Friend (Jesus). Finished another afghan hexagon this evening. Twenty-six hexagons are finished now, and there are six to go, plus eight half hexagons. “For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.” (Psalm 86:5) March 11. “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think….” (Ephesians 3:20a) Now unto Him be praise for answered prayer above and beyond our thoughts and our need. When I got up this morning and looked out the windows, I saw clear blue sky and no fog up or down river. A perfect day for Daddy’s flight home. And on top of that, the Lord had delighted my eyes during the night with stars in a clear, dark sky, hundreds of thousands of stars, the first time in many weeks, maybe months, that I had seen stars. Even though it was 1:30 a.m. when I discovered them, I put my glasses on and stood at the window for a while just drinking in the wonder of it all. Daddy was put on the second flight so did not arrive until a little after mid-morning. By then quite a few clouds had gathered in the sky overhead, white clouds, and high in the sky, no hindrance to the scheduled flight. I was so thankful to have Daddy home again. It has been a very stressful week without him. While I was waiting for the plane, I tried to get e-mails in, but couldn't get a connection. Then I decided to work on a hexagon for the afghan. Had nearly completed one when I heard the roar of the plane engine. Time to get ready for carriers to bring in cargo. Judy and Nendisa were my helpers today. After the carriers received their chocolate wafers and had left, Daddy started unpacking and putting things away, and I started dinner — mashed potatoes, ground beef gravy, and carrots. I was very tired by the time dinner was over and the kitchen was cleaned up, but I could not sleep at nap time. Thoughts kept racing through my mind because my heart was so burdened over a situation that Lewis and I had discussed earlier. So I got up to write a couple e-mails. First we had to get e-mails in — over 2 MB, but praise the Lord, everything came in quite quickly. Then I did the writing. Daddy did the proofreading, and gave his approval; and we sent them off. It was hard to write them, but it was necessary and urgent. Daddy was able to get most of the food put away in the morning, and I was thankful to have just a few items to put away this afternoon. By this evening, I was too tired to do much of anything. Daddy was really tired, too, as he caught a cold while he was in town and wasn’t able to sleep much., and then all the shopping he had to do and business he had to tend to tired him out the more. So he is getting ready to go to bed early. “But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.” (Galatians 6:14)
