December 8. We were greeted this morning by cloudy skies, looking very much like snow clouds. As temperatures dropped throughout the morning, morning rains turned to afternoon snow showers. So lovely! A wonderful reminder that though our sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow! Needless to say, we did not hang the laundry outside today. Part of it went into the dryer and the rest was hung up here and there to dry. Alternated today between writing sections of the newsletter and sorting and packing books. Finished filling the overnight bag with books to be shipped to PNG. Now we need some small boxes to pack more books. “And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.” Psalm 9:10 If we know the Lord’s name, that is His honor, authority, and character, surely we will put our trust in Him. For there is none other who is like our God, none other who is worthy of our trust.
December 9. Snow showers again this morning! Working on crocheting a beret and also helping Christy to write a Bible verse on her plaque. Painted the words on the plaque this evening. Finished writing the quarterly newsletter this afternoon. Praise the Lord for His help with that. Finished tucking all the ends in on the scarf this evening so the scarf is done now and ready to go to the mission for the homeless. “The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.” Exodus 30:15 The offering given to the Lord in the Old Testament to make an atonement for their souls is a picture of the offering for sin made by Christ in the New Testament. There is one offering for all, both rich and poor. There is no difference. There is only one offering for the atonement of our souls.
