April 4. The Lord gave us a pretty, sunny day today. We enjoyed getting out for a little while and mowing a bit of the lawn. Daddy and I talked about a work schedule this morning, and I also started setting up for myself a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule in the computer. Made a shopping list too so we can do shopping tomorrow. We decided to make Tuesday our shopping day. Then we checked over Matthew chapter 26. Also did a few little jobs around the house. Daddy put up the coat rack in the kitchen [by the back door]. Amazingly each screw hole found its way over a stud. I sanded down the extra shelf Daddy had made for one of the upper kitchen cupboards. Now it needs to be painted. This afternoon, we checked the first half of Matthew 27. Just one and a half chapters to go now. Praise the Lord for His help! Bro. Clarke came this afternoon with notes on the Gospel of Mark which we will check over next. He also answered some questions for us on some material we struggled with today. Oh, Lord, please show us how to reach these people [in our neighborhood] with the Gospel. “61And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. 62And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.” Luke 22:61,62 April 5. Started laundry before breakfast this morning; and by the time I had had breakfast and quiet time, things were ready to hang outside. The air was cool, windy, and nippy early this morning so we bundled up a bit warmer. It didn’t take long to hang them up though because there were mostly big things - sheets and towels. At 9:00, Daddy and I went out to go to the bank and do shopping. Next to the bank is a chiropractor’s office so after doing the banking, we stopped in there to see if we could get some information about the program and perhaps get some literature. Well, we got plenty of information about the program. Dr. Kevin Prime took us into his office and spent some time talking with us about his program. Then he asked if we’d like to fill out papers which we did and which took a long time -- so many papers! He helped us fill out some of them to cut down on the time. After that he did some general checkup - blood pressure, reflexes, etc. Then he took xrays after which he talked with us a little more and showed us the xrays. It wasn’t hard to see that my neck and spine was in really bad shape. Also the space between the two lowest vertebrae [in my back] was nearly completely closed up, most likely the reason for the pain, weakness, and poor blood circulation in my legs. There was also some spinal rotation which could contribute to that. We were in Dr. Kevin’s office about two hours all together. It was 11:00 or so when we left there to do our shopping. Stopped at Walgreens first to get a few items; then Aldi; and last of all WalMart. We were thankful that there wasn’t much on the list so the shopping didn’t take too long. Back home around 12:30. Put away food and had lunch and nap. After nap I got in the clothes. Then we made another trip over to the trailer to do more cleaning. I will be so glad when that job is done -- hopefully very soon. It was going on 6:00 when we got home. Fixed turkey burgers for our supper, and we had leftover salad. After supper, I fixed up the two portraits of the PNG kids and put those in frames. Then it was time to do dishes. (See picture above post -- two of Mom's watercolor paintings) “The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.” Psalm 102:28 April 6. Off to the chiropractor again this morning. Dr. Kevin went over his findings with us and then did some adjusting on my neck and lower back. Also gave me a schedule and some requirements for working on exercise, walking, posture, etc. After we paid, we gave him an invitation to the revival meetings at EBC. He was happy to receive it and put it at the check-out counter where he could see it, saying that he would try to come. After we came home, we finished checking chapter 27 of Matthew. Just one more chapter to go. Praise the Lord! While we were working, Connie finished mowing the lawn. After we were done, I tried painting the new shelf with some white glossy spray paint we had brought over from the trailer yesterday. There were three cans, but none of them would work properly. Then we saw that they had expired long ago - one in 2011, one in 2012, and one in 2013. So after lunch, I painted the shelf with some white acrylic paint that belonged to Connie. After nap, I worked on the quarterly income report. I am so far behind on computer work! Am glad we don’t have any plans to be going anywhere the next couple days. Also put another coat of paint on the shelf and later brought it in and put it in its place. We’ll give it until tomorrow to dry thoroughly before we place anything on it. Around 4:15, I started putting a fish casserole together for supper.
