August 17. On our way to the girls’ house this morning, we made a stop at WalMart to get some bananas. That didn’t take long because the store wasn’t busy, and we just used the self-checkout. The first order of business after we got here was to put away food in fridge. Next I put the clothes in the washing machine and set it going. Then I made a smoothie, and I drank it while the computer was warming up and I was looking at e-mails. Answered a couple e-mails before Daddy and I went outside to hang up clothes. After that we finished checking I Corinthians 12 and also did chapter 13 which was short and also went rather quickly compared to chapter 12. We’re so thankful for the Lord’s wisdom and guidance. Then it was time to get dinner. There was leftover spaghetti so just had to make the sauce. We had brought ground beef, and it was thawed and ready to cook. But where was the spaghetti sauce? Uh, it was back at the apartment somewhere. So Daddy made a quick run up to Food Lion and bought some spaghetti sauce. I also washed up the beet greens that I had cut off the beets that we bought yesterday. Added those in a pot to the spinach we had bought and soon lunch was ready. During and after eating lunch, I made corrections in the 1 Corinthians file and then set up chapters 12 and 13 in the print file. Also added chapter 14 in English. Christy had come home early today (before noon), and she was really tired so she took her nap first. Then Daddy and I had a nap. After nap, I spent the rest of the afternoon acknowledging the rest of our supporters via e-mail and sending them the August newsletter. ”2And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; 3The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. 4I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” II Samuel 22:2-4 The LORD is my rock (my strength, a firm immoveable foundation). He is my fortress (a stronghold, a place of defense, safety, and security). He is my deliverer (the one who carries me away safely, who causes me to escape; my rescuer). He is the God of my rock (the rock is Jesus—I Corinthians 10:4). He is my shield (my protection, cover from danger, security from assault or injury). He is the horn of my salvation (horns of animals serve as weapons of offense or defense; a horn is a symbol of strength, honor, glory, power, dignity). He is my high tower (a lofty or inaccessible place; a place of safety from the enemy). He is my refuge (a retreat, a place to flee to). He is my saviour (He saves me from violence; He saves me from sin; He saves me from death; He saves me from trouble; my avenger, preserver, helper, rescuer). He is all that I need. He is worthy to be praised! August 18. The day started a little later this morning—about 6:30. Shower and dress; straighten bed; fix eggs to go with Daddy’s breakfast pancake; have morning drinks and review memory verses; put amaranth on to cook for my breakfast and start learning new Bible verses; eat breakfast and read chapter in Ezekiel; go outside for some exercise while the morning was still cool; start prayer time; wash dishes; finish prayer time; sort through some mail and get rid of some. While I was washing dishes, Daddy was gone to the girls’ house to get the spaghetti sauce that we forgot to bring home yesterday evening. 😊 My last job of the morning was to clean one wall of the shower again with the mold removing spray, cleaning all the way out from the shower to the doorway. That was quite a sweaty job and took about an hour. Since the foam from the spray runs down the wall onto the floor, the floor (part of it anyway) got a scrubbing as well. I’m happy that things are looking much cleaner, and I feel much better about taking a shower in there. By the time that job was done, it was lunch time. After nap, I painted for a couple hours. I just have the flowers left to do, and I think the painting will be done. After supper, I finished up a Sunday school lesson. Then around 6:30, we left to go play games with C&C. “The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.” II Samuel 23:3 How our country needs a ruler who is just and who fears God! How the churches in this nation need leaders who are just and who fear God! How the homes in this nation need fathers who are just and who fear God!
