September 2. A rainy laundry day. Judy came early to wash clothes. Not long after she hung them out, the rains started. But there was no place to hang them in the house as the mission students would soon be here for school. They had gone to lotu at Liberty and arrived here a little after 9:00. Daddy did start the wood stove today because of the damp weather. I washed up the rest of the kaukau and put it in the wood stove oven to bake. Had to keep moving them around as the oven only gets hot right next to the firebox. So as soon as one kaukau was done, I moved it to the opposite side and moved another over next to the firebox. I wrote a few e-mails while Daddy was teaching the Revelation class. I really enjoyed the baked kaukau for dinner. Hadn’t had it baked for a long time as Daddy doesn’t care for it that way. After dinner, we went out and brought the clothes in. The rain had been stopped for a while, and there was a breeze so several items were already dry, and the rest of the clothes were almost dry. We hung shirts on hangers and everything else on the lines in the schoolroom. After the morning’s incident, it was a bit hard to sleep at nap time, but we were thankful to get a little rest. In the evening, four GIBC men came to “humbly” plead with Daddy about changing his mind. They said we could stay in the house, but they really need to have some of the building supplies from this house for their new church building. After they left, Amos came to see what they wanted. He had told Nuanda about what had happened in the morning, and Nuanda was at Amos’s house waiting to come see us. Nuanda did not come up with Amos because the four men were standing at the end of our house talking. Amos watched for them to leave before he and Pastor Nuanda, and Mike and Dallas too, came to talk with us. How thankful we are for their support and their counsel! Sometimes it is hard to think right in the midst of a difficult situation. The Lord gave these men wisdom to encourage and direct our thinking with a correct Biblical answer. Even though the answer may mean more hardships, it is better to suffer for well-doing than for wrong-doing. September 3. Another day like yesterday—a fogless morning, but cloudy, chilly, and rainy. A fire going in the wood stove again to keep the dampness out of the house. We need to keep the mold down as much as we can. There is no school today because the students are gathering food to cook for the Liberty men who will be coming to do some work for us on the house tomorrow. So this morning I did a bit of sewing, trying to add to the width of a bed sheet so it will fit better on our over-sized queen bed. Then I wrote an e-mail and wrote a bit in my journal. Also finished proofreading the Revelation lesson on the Laodicean church so all the lessons in the file have been proofread now. Just need to print this last lesson. At least it is not as long as the one before it. The GIBC people are standing up walls for their new church building today. We will be happy for them to have that done and be away from the house. I’m sure they will be too. This afternoon, I looked for pictures so I could try to make a soldier kneeling at the cross. We are considering calling the training school Soldiers of Christ Missionary School and want to repaint the pulpit to fit the name. We need to ask Nuanda about having the school established as a ministry of Liberty Baptist. This evening, I searched for pictures and fixed some up to use for painting.
