Note: I got so far behind that I skipped ahead to the journal notes in June. These are the latest journal notes I have from Mom. June 13. Started laundry while I was getting breakfast and reading a chapter in Pidgin Luke. It didn’t look like much wash in the hamper or in the washing machine; but after it was all hung outside, it filled quite a bit of space because there were so many little things — socks, rags, wash cloths and hand towels. It felt so good to be out in the sunshine and hang the clothes. There was a chilly breeze blowing so I did need to cover my head and ears. The temperature was down to 52º again this morning. After laundry was done, I took a chair out and set it in the sunshine so I could soak up some of the sun’s warmth while I was praying. Strong, cool winds blew this afternoon, and some clouds built up in the sky. While I was out there, Ove came along and wanted to borrow a marking pen to label his coffee bags. I did observe a whole train of people from Ahninyauntapeq heading up the hill and carrying bags of coffee. According to Ove, there is lots of coffee around and still more to pick. After I went back into the house later, Nehemiah came by with his phone and little radio to be charged. He, too, was carrying coffee up to the road and was going to meet Mike and family. Wrote several e-mails today and got the updates ready to go to Christy for printing and mailing, or for e-mailing. This afternoon I cut up two popo (papaya) set a little bit aside for my smoothie in the morning and made the rest into a popo crisp for Daddy. Also started getting journal notes ready to send to C&C. Just when I was eating my supper, Anna Jean came by to charge her phone and practice keyboard. It was a good time for her to come as it was bath night again, and I could depend on her to answer the door if anyone came. Nobody came to the door, however, until after I was done. Then Nehemiah came for his phone and radio. Anna Jean played keyboard a bit more and then started getting ready to leave. I’d been asking the Lord for an opportunity to ask her what she thinks the Lord has for her when she finishes missionary training, and was thankful to the Lord for opening that door. She said she really wants to do outreach, visiting and helping those in need, like Yanahdo or people who are sick. She also wants to train up her son in the way that he should go. Her parents say he is their child, but they do not treat him nicely; and he is not their child. She has told them now that God has given her a new life and has given her this child and it is her responsibility to train him up for the Lord. Wherever she goes, she will take the child with her. If the Lord chooses to give her a husband, he will have to accept and train up the child too. I was so busy talking with Anna Jean that I forgot to watch the time, and soon the call came from Daddy. I ran to get the phone and we chatted for about 45 minutes while Anna Jean was still here. After that, she and I continued our conversation. Then I prayed with her before she left about 8:00. After evening snack, I finished getting journal notes ready to send to C&C. June 14. A degree warmer than the past two mornings, but the air felt damp and chillier than the past couple days. As soon as the shadows disappeared in the backyard, and the sun was warming things up, I went and sat in the sunshine to pray. When I came inside, I did a little walking before doing a little Bible study. Added some more to C&C’s e-mail today, but most of my computer time was spent in the study of Revelation 19. Was thankful for the Lord’s help in completing that chapter this evening.
