July 12. Praise the Lord for the sunshine today! The following song was the first that we sang today, and what a great encouragement! How Firm a Foundation How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord, Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word! What more can He say than to you He hath said, To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled? “Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed, For I am thy God, I will still give thee aid; I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand, Upheld by My gracious, omnipotent hand.” “When through the deep waters I call thee to go, The rivers of sorrow shall not overflow, For I will be with thee, thy trials to bless, And sanctify to thee they deepest distress.” “When through fiery trials the pathway shall lie, My grace all-sufficient shall be thy supply; The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design Thy dross to consume and thy gold to refine.” “The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose, I will not, I will not desert to his foes; That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake, I’ll never, no never, no never forsake!” ~”K” – in Rippon’s Selection of Hymns, 1787 It was hard for us to sleep at nap time. So we got up and did some other work. I made good use of the time and wrote up the June progress report. Amos, Mike, and Dallas families went today to Kairaba for outreach. Amos had just gotten back when Daddy turned on the generator this evening. He gave Daddy a brief report of their trip. The church there had asked them if they had anything to say. They said they had some things to teach so the church gave them a speaker and microphone and they taught the first of the chronological lessons. The people were grateful and amazed — ”We never heard that before!” they said. This evening, Nuanda came by, and we were able to talk with him. Nuanda prayed with us before he left.
