November 12. Sunny came early and washed clothes. It didn’t take them long to dry in the bright sunshine. She also swept the floors, peeled and cut up potatoes, and prepared a pumpkin. I did a number of odd jobs including getting my suitcase unpacked and everything put away, putting a clean sheet on the bed and making up the bed, taking down the dry clothes, and cooking dinner when the time came for that. I cooked the pumpkin ahead of time because I was hungry for something healthy to eat. Made the potatoes into mashed potatoes and made a meat gravy with ground beef and onions. How thankful we were for the bananas Mequ brought us! Was very grateful for a nap as I was super tired. This afternoon and evening, I wrote in my journal and did a short Bible study in Numbers. A little later in the evening, Nuanda came for a visit. “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” (Colossians 1:10) November 13. It was a somewhat busy morning again. After breakfast and quiet time, I made the bed and folded and put away yesterday’s laundry. Emptied the last two boxes of things that came from the US. Sorted out vitamins and put away those that I can’t use right now. Got out a bigger box and reorganized all the toiletries and medical items. Cleaned the toilet. Sat down to relax and pray for a while, and it was our plan to go out afterward for some sunshine and exercise before it got too hot out. Wan came while I was relaxing, and then we would go out for a walk. But then Mike, Taqita and Lawrence came. We sat and talked with them for a good while. Mike was really excited to get his Thompson Cain Reference Bible. After they left, Mata came with bananas By the time the last person left, the sun was already high in the sky, and it was too hot out. So, no walk today. I turned on my computer and spent some time in Bible study. Then it was time for dinner. And the Lord sent us some light rain before dinner was over, and more periods of light rain off and on throughout the afternoon. We thank Him for the rain, and we continue to pray for more rain as the parched ground is in need of some good showers to make it soft enough for digging and planting. This afternoon and evening, I spent time adding OT verses into the culture course. “23) Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? 24) Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.” (Jeremiah 23:23-24) November 14. More little rains during the night, praise the Lord, and cloudy and foggy for a while this morning. Then the sun shone through. Sometimes it ran away and hid behind billowy clouds causing cool winds to blow on us, then it would come out of its hiding place to warm our skin again while we were out getting a little exercise before the meeting on the hill. When we came back inside, I spent time in Bible study in Numbers. This afternoon and evening, I worked on revising the setup of the culture lessons.
