November 10. Another very busy and tiring day. Washed clothes and hung them on hangers all around the house since the lines and clothespins were already in use. Enjoyed sitting outside again for quiet time and breakfast while the clothes were washing. Did a little packing and then we went out to Lapilo to pick up the medicine at the clinic. Praise the Lord for bringing the medicine in. Over K2000 for eleven months supply. Sounds like a lot in kina, but is less than $700US. That was just for the apixaban. They still have metoprolol in stock at the clinic so we got another three-month supply of that. That was only K7. Praise the Lord that He provides whether a large amount or a small. Made a quick stop at West stores on the way back to the flat to try to get red yarn, but it was too expensive. That was the only store that had red, but the price was higher. The rest of the day we were kept busy packing off and on. Also listened to a good missions message by Pastor Mills based on Acts 13:1-4, and wrote a couple e-mails. Didn’t get a chance to do Bible study in Numbers until this evening. November 11. Back to the village at last. Arose around 6:00 this morning, about the same time as usual. It was going to be another warm day, although it started out cool and cloudy, so I did not sit outside to read the Bible or eat breakfast. Later, it turned out to be a very hot day. By the time we finished last-minute packing and cleaning up the apartment, it was time to head over to the hangar. Silvia was there waiting for us as she had brought some things to the hangar to send into Owena. It was good to see her. She had been very sick with COVID right after David had been sick and thought she might die. David wasn’t nearly as sick. She said that the family is hoping to come out to Owena during the school holidays. Even though we arrived at the hangar at 9:00, our flight wasn’t until 11:00 so we had quite a while to wait before the plane arrived back at the hangar. We hung around the cargo room and the office for a while. Then Aryan took us over to the training room where we might be more comfortable. He turned on the air conditioning, but it got too cool for us so we turned it off and opened the door. The air was full of smoke all the way from Goroka to Owena. The appearance of the earth and air is very much like a drought. It is so, so dry. No rain for a long time. The water in the dam is low so water runs very slowly to the house. But at least there is water, praise the Lord! Hardly anyone was around when the plane landed, and mostly men. No young ladies to help look after cargo at the house. Wan was there, and I thought maybe he could help. In the meantime, Daddy had asked him to help. So he stood at the door and took cargo and gave out chocolates. After a while, Sunny came along, and she brought all the cargo into the main part of the house. When everyone was gone, she filled up the washing machine for doing laundry tomorrow. Since it was already past noon, we only put away fridge and freezer items. Then we warmed up meat pies for dinner. I was hungry for veggies, but didn’t have time to prepare any. After nap, we unpacked and put away other items, except for the boxes of things that came via JAARS. They could wait ‘til another day. I was very thankful for a bath this evening after a hot and sweaty day. Joshua brought us news that Erovi is very sick — not eating or drinking, and his bodily functions shutting down.
