August 16. Praise the Lord for a better sleep last night. Enjoyed a little chat this morning on Skype with Larry and his son Alex who were visiting Martha. I thank the Lord, too, for an encouraging doctor visit. Dr. Kevin is pleased with my progress so I am too. I only need to go see him once a week now. We were at the doctor’s office over two hours again. Had another EKG, and the fibrillations are still there, but the medicine is keeping things under control. Am thankful to the Lord for giving me Dr. Kevin for my main doctor. By the time we got back to the flat, it was dinner time. We ate up the leftovers — Daddy had carrots, potatoes, and hamburger; and I had a medley of fish, rice, and zucchini topped with pasta sauce and cheese. Then we had nap; and when I got up, Daddy was out shopping. This afternoon, I worked on an answer to FBC’s e-mail for their coming mission advancement month. It took a while to think things through, Daddy and I putting our thoughts together. Finished that up this evening after supper. And the hymns to sing that “just happened” to be next in the song book were “Saved by the Blood” and “Nor Silver Nor Gold.” “Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.” (Hosea 14:9) August 17. We were awakened once about 11:30 p.m. by the screaming of the alarm. The alarm had gone off twice earlier in the evening, so we were thankful it only went off once during the night. The alarm system for this complex is not working properly. I was awake by 6:00 this morning. Daddy was already up, getting ready for his flight back to Owena. A little before 7:00, Karen and Rachel took him over and dropped him off at the hangar. Then they went shopping. After my breakfast, quiet time, making the bed, and reading the e-mails, I got busy making tortillas. Also continued prayer time while I was getting the tortillas ready, and did a little Bible study while the tortillas were cooking. (Only two of them got burnt 😊, but they were still edible.) Sang and read a little bit before going outside for a little sunshine and exercise. Talked with Rachel and Karen a few minutes on my way out. By 11:30, I was tired so had an early lunch and nap. This afternoon, I did some reading in a Bible doctrines book. An e-mail came in from Dr. Kevin saying that results of my thyroid test had come back from Australia and that I had tested negative for hyperthyroidism. Praise the Lord for that news. Then I walked a bit before having a fruit snack. After my snack, I got journal notes ready to send to Connie. By then, it was time to fix something for supper so made a couple large fish patties for tonight and tomorrow night. A whole one was too much, however, so only ate a half, plus some zucchini with pasta sauce and cheese. A little after 7:00, Daddy called, and we chatted until about 8:00.
