September 10. We did a little rearrangement of classes this morning as Daddy was busy on the phone, texting, and on the computer, looking at e-mails. Anyway, while Daddy was busy, I took charge of the first class. Then we skipped to Outreach class which had already been assigned to Amos. And then I did culture class before Daddy was ready to come and teach Revelation class and then Outlines of Epistles. They are currently working on James outline. Elise did not come to class today, but stayed home to take care of Dallas. He is still very, very sick. Computer time today again was spent on the Revelation lesson. “To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him.” Daniel 9:9 How we praise God for his mercies and forgivenesses. September 11. It was another morning for a fire — a damp, chilly morning. Praise the Lord for His help today for us and for the students too. Praise the Lord for the help of the students after school, too — filling up the washing machine, filling up the wood box, filling up the small diesel container, and taking another light down in the meeting room as we anticipate they will want to tear that down soon. Praise the Lord for working out the flights for Bryan to get in and do the solar installation next week. And for the students being willing to cook food for him. Finished up another section today in the Revelation lesson. Have to do study questions and then do one more section in that lesson. September 12. Praise the Lord for a lovely day. The morning was very busy. After lotu at Liberty, Judy and her mother came to work. Judy washed clothes — an easy job today as there was only one load. Mata swept the floors. Then Amos came and helped us scout out a rat. We knew it was in the bathroom wall behind the bathtub somewhere, but could find no sign of it at the bottom of the wall. We knew there were no horizontal poles, only vertical ones, and it was very evident that a dead rat was in there somewhere. It couldn’t be hanging in mid-air, but where was it? Amos finally realized that there was a diagonal brace across the wall. Could the rat be hanging on the brace? The only way to find out was to take the end of the wall apart and lift up one corner. Sure enough! Quite a fat fella too. Amos picked it up with a plastic bag and carried it out to the garbage hole. After getting the mess cleaned up behind the bathtub, and since that wall was not in good condition, we covered the length of it with linoleum. We had been wanting to do that anyway as the wall always gets wet at bath time, and it was old and tacky looking. It took a while to measure, cut, fit the linoleum into place, and nail it down. The three Amos’s stayed to help; but when it was almost done, we encouraged them to go home and finish getting ready for the outreach they will be doing this weekend. While lunch was cooking, Daddy and I finished what was left of the job. It not only looks much better, but rats shouldn’t be able to get in and die there in the future. The afternoon, after nap, was busy with hair washing, cutting up popos, and cooking one to make popo crisp. Then I started working on the August progress report and finished it this evening. September 13. A foggy, overcast morning. A rainy afternoon and evening. But warm enough and dry enough this morning to go out for a walk and enjoy the fresh air. God is good. We thank Him also for time to talk with our daughters. How I miss them! Free time today was spent reinforcing the new bilum with strong crochet cotton so the bilum won’t stretch when it has a load in it. Also cut Daddy’s hair and made banana muffins. In the evening, Nuanda came to visit for a while.
