December 12. A lot warmer last night. Only needed one blanket. And to my surprise, the day warmed up to the 60’s. Rain had been predicted, and the morning was quite cloudy and a bit chilly, but maybe a few drops of rain fell. Around noon the sun came out, and it was a beautiful day. This morning, I finished getting all of Mark into the translation file. Then I went outside and picked up rubbish, nearly a large bagful of stuff that had blown into or been thrown into the yard or the empty lot on the corner. It was getting to look rather messy so I was happy to get it cleaned up. As I was out, Duck and Christine came by on their way for a walk. After greeting them and asking how they were doing, I asked if they had been reading their Bibles. Christine said they are. Before they walked on, I reminded them that I am praying for them and that God loves them. After I came inside, I had a little time to do some work on the missionary history of PNG before lunch and a little bit again this afternoon. Christy was late getting home from work because she had to stay a little later to fill in on watching the children while someone had a break. Then she had to go to the post office to mail a package. I still expected her to take a little nap before we went out shopping, but she said she didn’t have time so off we went to Aldi and WalMart for the weekly shopping. There wasn’t much on my list so it didn’t take long. Christy also went to Ingles to pick up a couple things for Connie, but I waited in the car. Then she got gas at Ingles before we came home. On our way home, we were awed by the full moon, large and beautiful in the eastern sky. (Picture above shows a full moon at night; it was still light when Mom and Christy saw the full moon.) “8And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work...: 11Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.” II Corinthians 9:8,11 More of God’s all’s and abundances. Wow! How good God is! What cause for thanksgiving! December 13. No sunshine today. Was about 40º when I got up and stayed in the 40’s all day. The air had an icy chill to it, but Connie and I still enjoyed a short walk in the refreshing outdoor air a little after noon. This morning, I wrote a couple e-mails and deleted a lot of e-mails. Finished getting the rest of the Pidgin text for Luke chapters 1-12 into the print file. Now I’ve got to do the English and align it with the Pidgin text. This afternoon, I added questions to lesson 9 of the Proverbs lessons. At 3:00, Christy and I headed out for WalMart again. Christy had an eye doctor appointment, and while she was at her appointment I took care of other business. Returned the yarn she had bought yesterday. It was supposed to be used to make a scarf for one of the ladies at her work place, but it had four ends. Then I shopped for a few things Christy forgot yesterday, plus replacing the yarn, and getting a few other yarn, plus some warm socks for myself. By the time Christy finished her appointment, we had to hasten off to Dr. Prime’s office for my 4:30 appointment there. Arrived just in time. A lovely young lady named Jennifer was there helping him today. I thought it was the same one who was there a long time ago who is a massage therapist, but Jennifer said that is her sister. Jennifer will be graduating from chiropractic school this weekend, and she was quite excited about that. From there, we ran over to the bank. “13Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name. 14Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you; 15(For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.” Deuteronomy 6:13-15 The LORD Jehovah, our God, is a jealous God. He demands and is worthy of our total attention and affection. We should serve and worship Jehovah God and Him only.
