September 18. Around 9:30 this morning, Daddy and I went out to Ollies in Gastonia to get a couple infrared heaters and a couple salt lamps. Arrived back home around 11:00 and then got busy making my weekly soup — potato soup this time. It wasn’t ready in time for lunch, but I was thankful to have it for supper. While it was cooking, I printed out the letter we had worked on yesterday, and Daddy and I each proofread it. I also replied to another email. Then I got last week’s journal notes ready and sent them off to Connie. This evening, I worked on some slides for at least a desktop presentation at our display table. “And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.” Genesis 22:3 Although the test God gave Abraham was so difficult, Abraham obeyed without hesitation or question. “I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.” Psalm 119:60 Abraham had complete trust in God. “3Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. 4Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.” Isaiah 26:3,4 September 19. Today must have been labor day. First we washed and hung out clothes. Then Daddy went off to the stores to get a few items we had run out of and to purchase some tools and things at Harbor Freight. While he was gone, I worked at writing a letter and then labored over cleaning the tub, toilet, and bathroom sink. By the time I finished that, I was a little worn out. I was hoping to do more cleaning or packing today, but my strength was already used up. So this afternoon, I did more mental labor and got a quarterly newsletter written. This evening, I worked a bit more on the desktop slide show. And later this evening I finished the American flag afghan. (See picture above) Praise God for His help with that project. “And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.” Genesis 22:5 Abraham was completely confident that God would give back to him that which he willingly gave to God. He said “I and the lad will….come again to you.” We too can trust God that He will take what we willingly give Him and will give back to us in a way that we could never imagine. “3Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” Psalm 37:3-5
