October 11. Another very chilly morning. Turned on heat in bedroom and office this morning. The Lord sent us nice sunshine again later, however. Daddy went out to WalMart this morning to get the oil changed before his trip. I worked on the translation file and on the lessons from the book of John today. Boxed up the fair crafts and gave them to Connie to put away with her sale items. Cut Daddy’s hair this afternoon. Made some frozen banana strawberry pops. This evening, Daddy & Christy went out to Bostic to look at a vehicle that Christy is interested in buying. October 12. Decided to do laundry this morning since there will be lots of other things to do tomorrow - chiropractor appointment, shopping, packing for Daddy, other errands. Then I looked for pictures from Image Revolution on Christy’s computer and transferred them to a flash drive to use in the discipleship booklet. Got those set up in the discipleship book so now I can proofread. Also got the monthly update written, a copy printed out and proofread, and copies printed for mailing. Now the e-mail copies need to be done - maybe tomorrow. Pastor Ogle covered Exodus chapter one this evening in his preaching, showing how greatly the Lord blessed Israel and multiplied them and made them strong through hardships. The more they were afflicted and oppressed, the more they multiplied and the stronger they became. “17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:17,18 Those who walk after the Spirit are children of God and heirs of God. They can expect to suffer with Christ, but will also be glorified with Christ. The sufferings are only temporary, and are not even deserving of or worthy of comparison with the eternal glory which will be revealed in us. October 13. 49º this morning but warmed up so nicely before midday. Daddy and I were off to town around 9:15 this morning - first to the bank, then Dr. Prime’s office. After that, we headed for Ingles in KM. Found a couple things there we wanted but not all that we were hoping to get. Next stop was K-Mart in Shelby. There we found an alarm clock with light-up numbers - clock number four. :-) We had already taken three clocks back to WalMart - three strikes and you’re out. So decided to try K-Mart this time. Aldi next for a few veggies. Then Crossroads. Didn’t find what we were looking for, but I found a ball of yarn for 50 cents, and Daddy found an alarm clock with LARGE light-up numbers. Only $2. If it works, will number four clock go back to the store? (It has been working since we brought it home.) (And it is still working. :-)) On the way to the checkout, my eye spied a flannel nightgown. Just what I needed. Grabbed that and took it up to the counter to pay for it. One more stop - Ginger’s Salvage. Bought a few little items and gave Ginger the crocheted necklace set I had entered into the fair. She was so excited to get it. It made me happy to give it to her. Finally got home around 1:30. Put stuff away. Had lunch. Going on 2:30 when we went down for nap. This afternoon, I made the bed (it didn’t get done this morning) and cleaned up the bedroom a bit; then did the dishes. Daddy did his packing, ready to head off on his trip tomorrow. After Christy got home from work, she and Daddy went down to Blacksburg to check on a car, but it was too small for what Christy wanted. This evening, she made an offer on the Crown Victoria they looked at the other evening. The owner is willing to accept the offer. So that’s about it for the day. Didn’t get any computer work done today other than to proofread a document that Connie wanted me to look over. “And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.” Romans 8:23 Our souls have already been redeemed. We don’t have to wait for that. We only wait now for the redemption of our body.
