March 9. Almost 10:00 p.m. Just got back from church around 9:30. Went through SC to get gas on the way home from church. We sang happy songs at the beginning of the service, but [a special need a church member shared] and Pastor Ogle’s teaching were both very sobering. Pastor Ogle preached from Genesis chapter 34 – “exposing your family to the world has devastating consequences. You must be careful how much or to what extent you expose yourself to the world.” I was happy to see "A" tonight and give her a hug. It had been some time since I had seen her. How I pray for that sweet young girl! Today Daddy helped with some things around the house – attaching the mirror to the back of my dresser, putting up the clothesline, putting up curtain rods in the living room. He also went out to get the oil changed in the car at WalMart, a couple more photos made at Walgreens, and some clothespins at Dollar General. I helped Daddy where needed with the house jobs today. Talked with my sister for quite a while this morning. Got our ministry update written. Finished putting our display board together except for a printout with statistics about PNG which I hope to do tomorrow. “And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.” Mark 14:36 March 10. A warm day, but cloudy this morning, We were thankful for sunshine later as there were lots of clothes to hang out to dry. After breakfast and quiet time, I transferred some photos to the computer so I could send them to Connie via e-mail when we went to their house. Then we loaded the hamper full of dirty clothes plus a plastic bag full, laundry detergent, laundry basket, and computer into the van and headed for Lattimore. While the clothes were washing, I got journal notes ready to send to Connie’s computer along with some pictures. Daddy loaded up the van with some of the girls’ boxes of belongings, spent some time on the internet on Christy’s computer, and took apart Christy’s bed frame to bring over here to the house for Connie. It was going on 11:00 when we got back. Daddy unloaded the van and got ready to go out shopping again. Seems like there is always something we need. I started hanging up the clothes until I ran out of clothespins so he had to run to Dollar General to get another pack of clothespins. After he got back from getting the clothespins, he decided we would go to Subway for lunch. When we came back here, I had a nap, and he went off to do the other errands - getting extra towels at K-mart (they are on sale this week), going to Sears to order a washer and dryer, and to WalMart to see if the shower caddy we had ordered was in. It was – praise the Lord! Washer and drier won’t be here for two weeks – none left in their Atlanta warehouse. This afternoon, I got all the ministry updates done and printed out to be mailed with prayer cards. We don’t have any envelopes or stamps so we’ll leave those letters for Christy to take care of while we’re gone. Then I printed out some PNG and Owena statistics to go on the display board. Now the display board is complete. That done, I washed and peeled the rest of the potatoes for our supper. They were getting rather soft so needed to be used up. After supper, Daddy and I went through all the curios, brochures, etc. and filled a box with things we hope to set up on our display table. Put all the extra things away in our bedroom closet. Then I made some herb tea before printing out a copy of the “Lav, Mesi, Marimari” (Love, Mercy,l Grace) book. That also will go on our display table along with some other translated material. “And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.” Oh, that I might be willing to please my Lord far above pleasing people. March 11. Before eating breakfast this morning, I washed up the dishes since I hadn’t had time to do that yesterday evening. Then we busied ourselves deciding what to pack for our trip tomorrow. As we did, we realized that since Mel gave us a rack to hang our clothes on in the car, we won’t need to take a big suitcase. So later in the morning, we made a quick trip down to the thrift store to find a little suitcase. Praise the Lord for a nice little suitcase just the right size for $5. Came back home and packed things in the little suitcase. By then it was lunch time so I warmed up the leftover mashed potatoes and cooked a package of frozen veggie medley. Nap time next. Hooray! “Let’s see if they deliver our mattresses while we’re taking our nap.” We had barely lain down 15 minutes, and I had just gotten into a good sleep when FedEx pulled up. So up we got. Ours and Christy’s mattresses and bed frames came today. Daddy and I busied ourselves putting the two beds together. Then we made our bed up and lay down for a nap on a real bed. Praise the Lord for a bed! Still waiting for Connie’s bed. (Praise the Lord for It’s arrival while we were gone on our trip!) After nap, I cut Daddy’s hair. It was way past due. Glad to have that done. Time to sit down and rest a while until supper time. Printed out a crochet pattern than I had downloaded a while ago. Will take that with me to work on while we’re traveling. “15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature…. 20And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” Mark 16:15,20 Obedience!
