December 18. Yesterday evening seemed to go very slowly; and by 9:30 (or earlier), I was just wandering around wondering what I felt like doing. My brain couldn’t think of anything. That was a good sign that I needed to go to bed early and get some extra sleep. Must have been really tired as I lay down on the bed around 10:10 and was soon in dreamland. Never rolled over or moved, as far as I know. (Of course I couldn’t tell for sure since I was sleeping. 😊) Never woke up until about 3:15. After that, sleep was somewhat restless. Was thankful to get one corner of my desk cleaned off this morning. Took time to get a birthday card out in the mail, write a thank you note, and write a note for RB. In between times, I made up the bed; moved things out of the kitchen so the floor could be washed, and got water ready for washing it. Then Daddy helped by washing it and I dried it. Then it was time to sit down and get journal notes and pictures sent off to Connie. This afternoon, Daddy and I labored over checking a portion of the translation of John chapter 8. Finally finished through verse 30. Praise the Lord for His help. “6And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, 7Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. 8And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.” Exodus 34:6-8 When Moses understood the majesty of the LORD—his mercy and grace, His longusuffering, His abundant goodness and truth, His forgiveness, and His justice, Moses made haste to worship the LORD. LORD, that I too may see Your greatness and make haste to worship You as Moses did. December 19. What a lovely day the Lord gave us! It was so refreshing to open windows and breathe fresh air for a while. Right after breakfast and quiet time, I put the laundry in to wash. We planned to go to the discount store in Polkville as soon as the laundry was done, but the machine was giving us problems—seemed unbalanced and wouldn’t spin out. We paused and restarted it two or three times. Pulled up and rearranged clothes that seemed to be stuck under the agitator. Priase the Lord, they finally spun out after the machine refilled with water. It looked like an old nightgown rag was the culprit with torn places that likely got caught on the agitator. After all that, we got a late start to Polkville—a little after 10:00 if I remember correctly. Bought a few things at the discount store. I was very thankful to find more of the Alive protein powder. Stopped at Ingles on the way home where we found some smoothie drinks marked way day and also some mark down greens. Bought a few bananas and a bottle of Bragg liquid aminos as well. It was a little after 12:30 when we finally got home and going on 2:00 before we lay down for nap. What was left of the afternoon was spent in the kitchen, making lentil/vegetable soup for myself and pizza for Daddy’s supper. “Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.” Exodus 34:21 If we honor God and rest on the day He has given to us for rest, He will help us take proper care of our plowing and harvest on the other days and will provide our needs.
