November 3. Praise the Lord that both of us slept better last night so we felt more refreshed to go out and do some shopping. First order of business was laundry, however. Then, after resting a bit, we took off for Seng Da, mostly to get things in the dry goods section upstairs. Stopped and talked with David for a while. He would like a song book, more tracts, and some Genesis/Exodus book whenever we can get some out to him. After buying a few things upstairs, we made a handful of purchases downstairs. We went to Seigu market looking for bananas and popo, but didn’t find any. Bought a small head of broccoli, a few cucumbers, and a couple tomatoes. Shared gospel tracts with those from whom we purchased food. Next stop was Goroka Stationery to get three school certificates laminated — Sunny’s, Dallas’s, and Mike’s. Judy’s isn’t ready yet. I was waiting to put her typing grade on it if we ever get finished. Last of all we went to the pharmacies. Bought a bottle of calcium/bone supplement. Wanted to get a photo printed for Sera, but none of the machines were working. Got back to the house a little after 11:00. I was thankful to get back. Had a really hard time breathing this morning, especially with a mask on. The air was so close, I couldn’t get deep enough breaths. Was hungry when we got back so had a little snack even though it wouldn’t be long until dinner time. Slept hard at nap time, but I still popped awake at the usual time that I get up — 3:00. This afternoon, we packed boxes so Daddy can take them to the hangar tomorrow. I also made tortillas for my supper. After supper, I finally had a chance to finish my Bible study in Numbers. So many thoughts run through my head, but it is hard to express them all as I would like. This evening, I worked more on the setup of Revelation, finishing all but the last verse of chapter 16. “97) O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day… 113) I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love… 163) I hate and abhor lying: but thy law do I love… 165) Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.” (Psalm 119:97,113,163,165) November 4. We’re thankful for the CRMF worker Nason who carried all the packed boxes down to the truck for Daddy. Then Daddy took them all over to MAF so they would be out of our way here and so they would be ready for the flight into Owena next week, Lord willing. Afterward, Daddy stopped at Yida to get flour (I used the rest of the flour yesterday to make tortillas), toilet paper, and fish. The fish didn’t look like the Mahi Mahi I saw there the other day, but the worker could have gotten it mixed up with the barracuda which was in the same place. The mahi mahi was supposed to have been fileted, but this fish still had its skin on and had long bones running through it. I didn’t see any small bones so hoped that there were only those long ones. Anyway, this is what we had so we would cook it up and see if it could be eaten with enjoyment. First, I put on a pot of rice to cook. Then I prepared the broccoli and set it on to cook. And last of all, I put the fish into a glass oven dish, sprinkled it with salt and pepper, spread it with butter, cut up onion and garlic on top, and put it into the preheated oven. When the fish was nearly done, I drizzled pasta sauce over the top and added the broccoli, and the carrots I had cooked yesterday. It was still 12:30 before the dish of fish with its condiments was ready to eat. We put rice on our plates first, and spread the fish mixture on top. Praise the Lord, there were no small bones, and it wasn’t too difficult to pull out the long ones. And the fish tasted so good. We hadn’t had “fresh” fish in a long time. We were later than usual getting to nap since our dinner was later. And we were awakened early by the police using a loudspeaker to get everybody off the streets. It wasn’t quite 3:00 which is when curfew time begins. Throughout the day, I used free time to work on the quarterly newsletter. I thank the Lord for helping me finish that early this evening. Sometimes I really struggle with what to say and how to put things into words. I try not to get a lot of unimportant details, and I strive to make the letter meaningful and encouraging to the readers. This evening, we also listened to the Sunday afternoon meeting from VBC with Austin Fryer, a student from ABC, preaching.
