May 13. Left for C&C’s house a little after 8:15 this morning. Had a few minutes to chat and to get a couple greeting cards ready to be taken to church. The early service started at 8:45. Pastor Ogle’s preaching was taken from several passages which talked about Jezebel and her family and the ungodly influence that prevailed within that family. In thinking of mother’s day, he mentioned a number of areas from Jezebel’s life that we need to avoid in our lives as mothers lest we have an influence for evil in the lives of our children. In the later service, Pastor continued his preaching from I Peter 3, verses 13-15, entitled The Reason of the Hope. “You must be ready to answer whether in good circumstances or bad.” “Your persecution, though real, will be short-lived in comparison to eternity. Can you rejoice that they can’t take that away from you?” Daddy and the girls were late getting home as they had stopped at Neighborhood WM in KM to get water. After they ate, the girls gave me my other Mother’s Day present—a book on landscape painting. They had already downloaded one set of books for me so I have that one on my computer. Before Daddy and I left, we all had our other piece of the lime pie that I had made for Christy’s birthday. It was already going on 3:00 before we got settled down for nap. After I got up, I peeled and cut up the squash and put that in the fridge to use in my soup tomorrow. Got my computer set up and wrote a bit in my journal. Daddy did the dishes, and I spent quite a bit of time weeding out and organizing the card-making stuff so I can get all that put away. After supper, I crocheted a while. “And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.” Joshua 23:14 Praise God, He has never failed, and He never will!
