December 14. While I’m enjoying my supper of fried rice and seaweed with red onion, fresh ginger root, and tamari, I’ll see if I can recall the day’s events. I decided to look for a simple lacy scarf pattern for Christy’s gift to take to work. It didn’t take long to find one online and get started on the scarf. I had lots of other things on my schedule, however, so didn’t get very much done on that. Had to write a couple e-mails. Then I wrote down information for Connie’s research project. After that, I spent a good amount of time putting the English verses from Luke into the translation print file and lining those up with the Pidgin. This afternoon, I did some writing in the Pidgin version of PNG’s gospel history. I was busy with my nose in that when the phone suddenly rang. Oh, oh. I was supposed to call Daddy at 4:00, and here it was 4:15. I quickly returned the missed call and talked for quite a while with Daddy. They have been having rain every day, although he said there has been some sunshine in the mornings. Right now he is meeting with Matthew, Amos, David, Mike, and Gibson to try to deal with some problems and complaints. Next week, the youth want to have special meetings, twice a day for five days. I am quite concerned about Bonita. Before the school year ended last year, she had started putting on quite a bit of weight, and her face was really full like it had a lot of fluid in it. Daddy says that now her whole body is like that, and she can hardly walk. Please pray for healing for Bonita and that her family will be able to get her medical care for her condition. Thanks! “9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” II Corinthians 12:9,10 Lord, help me to remember who You are and that Your grace is sufficient. December 15. A lovely sunny day, but cold wind started blowing here this morning, making quite a chill in the air. Today was spent writing a couple e-mails and deleting a lot of e-mails, adding more English Luke to the translation print file and aligning it with the Pidgin, and getting another ladies’ lesson written. Also wrote a couple text messages with updates on Daddy. Before I had written Ellen, I received a message from her saying that sickness has been hitting their family -- either the stomach bug or respiratory illness. This evening Cilla called, and I enjoyed the time to chat with her. I also took the time today to work on the scarf Christy wanted made for a gift to give at work. Connie had done most of the crocheting on the scarf. Christy wanted it monogrammed, and it took quite a while to figure out the best way to do that. I still need to put fringe on it, and then it will be done.
