May 19. Praise the Lord for His strength for today! Did two loads of laundry this morning, and spent the rest of the morning packing personal belongings to be sent later to PNG. That’s quite a job so want to work on it little by little. There are lots of things to sort through and decide what we’ll need there and what we won’t. This afternoon, after getting the clothes in and hanging things up in the closet, I wrote a couple e-mails and worked on youth lessons. “9But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” I Peter 2:9,10 How wonderful that God has made us, who were not His people, and who had not obtained mercy, to be a chosen generation too, just as His people of old; and to be a holy priesthood, a holy nation, and a people all His own. He did so that we might proclaim the glory of God, showing to all that the God who made them is worthy to be loved. May 20. This morning, I got an anniversary card ready to mail and wrote a thank you note. Put more salt, baking soda, and vinegar down the bathroom drains to try to get those cleared out better. After a while, we went over to look at a house. They are wanting to rent it to people who aren’t loud and boisterous and who won’t tear it up. Although the girls are looking to buy, and although the house is a wee bit small, the offer is hard to pass up and may give Christy more of a chance to save before buying. It is something we need to pray about. After we got back, I swept the living room and kitchen floors and did some spot treating of the kitchen floor. Put chicken on to cook for dinner and enjoyed something different today -- a dish of veggies (beans and broccoli) with chicken gravy. Daddy had rice with the chicken gravy, and broccoli. This afternoon, I worked on the youth lessons, cleaned a few books out of the office bookcase, talked with my sister. “11But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. 12For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.” Psalm 5:11,12 It is a joy to memorize these verses about joy. Joy comes as I put my trust in the LORD. May 21. This morning, Daddy and I went out to Manna Baptist again. The Pastor gave Daddy the names of a couple other churches, and we went to one this evening. It was very southern, and the people were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The pastor gave Daddy some time to tell about our ministry, and they took up a love offering for us at the end of the meeting. The Lord sent us rain this afternoon and evening and the temperature had cooled down to the mid-60’s by late afternoon.
