June 24. A little bit colder this morning so I started the fire in the wood stove, but it really troubled my eyes so maybe I’ll just leave the fire alone and just dress warmer on the colder mornings. Judy came this morning to see if there was any work to do so I had her prepare the greens that Apekio brought yesterday, and shell the peanuts that Sunny and Tonka had brought earlier. I was going to have Sunny do that as I thought she was going to come with greens yesterday, but she didn’t so don’t know when she will come again. While Judy was working, I got all the verses into a file that Daddy wants whenever he has the opportunity to preach at Liberty. After Judy left, I went outside in the sunshine for a few minutes. Then I cut a piece of linoleum to fit across a section of the wall above the kitchen sink, glued it, and tacked it into place, something I’ve wanted to do for a good while so it will be easier to clean if something gets spattered there. Most of the afternoon, after nap, I worked on painting. I must have looked at the clock wrong because I thought it said quarter to four, and the next thing I knew it was going on 5:30. Oh, dear. Hurry and clean up the mess and get supper. Put bath water on while I was eating so I could take bath right away when I was done and be ready for Daddy’s call. It was so good to talk, but I’m a bit sad that he won’t be able to come home until next week Tuesday. “22It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 25The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.” Lamentations 3:22-26 Praise God for His mercies, for His compassions that do not fail and are new every morning, for His great faithfulness. Thank you, LORD for being my portion, my hope, for being good to those that wait for you and seek you. Help me to hope and quietly wait for your salvation. June 25. A very damp and chilly morning with high cloud cover and light, early morning rain. Periods of sunshine later in the morning, so I hung a couple blankets out in the sunshine and fresh air. I didn’t stay out to enjoy the sunshine today as there was quite a cool breeze blowing. It was past noon today before I even took my sweatshirt off. After breakfast and quiet time, I did some walking and then busied myself sorting out receipts and putting away the 2019 receipts, then getting Daddy’s desktop cleaned up. Had some sit-down time and worked on the next Revelation lesson. When my eyes got tired, I cleaned and organized the shelves in the tall cupboard and the shelves in the pantry so they are ready to put food away that Daddy will bring home. Also used some scrap pieces of plywood to nail to the upper food shelf in the pantry so bottles and things won’t be leaning or falling over. By the time I finished all that, it was 12:45 so quickly got leftovers warming up for dinner. It was 1:30 before I lay down for nap and 2:45 when I got up. After having a drink, I got ready to paint. Next thing I knew it was past 4:30. Needed to make some tortillas for my supper so hurried and cleaned up the painting stuff and started making the tortillas. It was 6:00 before I finally got to eat. Put dish water on to heat while I was eating so I could do the dishes right away. Finished dishes around 6:45. Sat down to relax and have a little time for prayer before Daddy called. It was so good to have someone to talk with after a long, lonely day. After that, I heated a little water and had a sponge bath. Then worked on the Revelation lesson until bedtime. “39Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins? 40Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD. 41Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.” Lamentations 3:39-41 Praise God, there is a remedy for sin and there is forgiveness.
