May 19. A rainy night and morning. Because of the rain, Daddy and Joe decided to wait on putting the shed up. So we made today our shopping day. A little after 8:30, we went out to WalMart to get a few groceries. I was excited to get fresh corn again, this time at 33¢ an ear. Not a bad price for fresh corn. Then we went across the road to K-Mart where I bought a couple pair of summer shoes - BOGO (50% of the second pair). Next stop was GNC in the mall, and then Sears Hometown store to see about exchanging our washing machine. The woman who works there was quite knowledgeable about the machine and explained that most machines now do make a noise like that because of the way they are made to be energy efficient. She did say, though, that the clothes should not have a lot of lint on them after they are washed. She gave us a number for calling a serviceman to come out and look at it. It could be a manufacturing defect. If the serviceman can’t fix it, then the company will replace it with the same kind or another kind, whichever we may choose. Stopped into the Salvation Army thrift store after that to see if they had any curtains, but there were none; and Daddy ran into Big Lots, while I was in there, to see if they had any bread, but there was none. So on we went to Aldi, our last stop before coming back home. I was happy to get back home. My legs felt very weak today, and it was hard to walk around. Had an extra long nap. Worked on the Scripture file until time to fix supper. Made goulash for supper and cooked lima beans for Christy and Daddy. For my veggie, I warmed up and ate the last leftover ear of corn. May 20. Rained most of the day and raining this evening. It was a good stay-at-home day. We are thankful for the rain as it has been needed. Did three loads of wash this morning. Hung my blouses and dresses on the rack in the laundry room and Daddy’s shirts and trousers on the shower rod in the bathroom. Put a rope up above/behind the washer and drier to hang plastic bags and a couple other little things, and the rest went into the dryer. Daddy and I spent a couple hours checking Mark today and finished chapter 4. We talked about how we could manage our time better so we could spend more time on this very important project. I also did more work on the Scripture print file. “44Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. 45And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. 46I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.” John 12:44-46 By faith alone we see God, and by faith alone we see light.
