February 14. Rained all yesterday evening and all night long (as far as we could tell since we weren’t awake the whole night, but it was raining every time either of us woke up). There wasn’t much fog this morning, however, and the clouds lifted quickly above the mountain tops. The morning was cool, and there were cool winds midday, but sunshine and a little more calmness filled the afternoon. Daddy was all packed and ready to go fairly early, but the plane did not come until after 2:00. Praise the Lord, the winds had calmed down by then as they were quite gusty earlier. Mike shared a devotional this morning in Bible class, showing how the verses in I Corinthians 15:51-53 and Philippians 3:20,21 on the rapture were an encouragement to him as he has been going through a time of sickness. He has some kind of digestive issue which flares up every so often and causes him a lot of pain. After Daddy left this afternoon, I worked a little bit on painting (added a butterfly), finished lesson plans for Monday, did a little more painting (a few flowers), started to work on the newsletter until I realized that I need my previous journal as I had just started a new one, and I don’t have an updated journal 46 on my transfer flash drive. Was hoping to get the newsletter done by the time Daddy returned. Will have to see what I can remember. I do have a copy of the January progress report on the flash drive so that will give me the last day of the meetings. Oh, yes, and December progress report should still be in the sent items. Yes, it is! Praise the Lord! Prepared and cooked up a squash for supper. While it was cooking, I heated up the rest of the rice and fish and ate that for the first course. And when the squash was done, I ate some of that. Tasted good — soft and sweet. Then I put water on for bath so I could have an early bath. It was later than I realized, however; and, when I came out of the bathroom, the phone was ringing. Ran to get the phone so I wouldn’t miss Daddy’s phone call. Oops, I had already missed several calls. Anyway, I was happy to talk to my favorite friend. There wasn’t really much to talk about this evening, but we talked about a half hour anyway. Daddy got to the guest house late (almost 5:00, I think he said) because the P2 bus driver had to go get fuel for the bus, and then another plane came in so they waited for passengers from that plane too. After we said “good night”, I put dish water on to heat and then did dishes. When dishes were done, I worked on the newsletter until the computer battery ran low. February 15. A very cool, cloudy day with a bit of rain. Rained in the wee hours of the morning, and I saw that the ground was pretty wet when the day dawned and light was shed upon it. It was about 8:00 before lotu started this morning. There were only five men present and perhaps ten women. After lotu, Sunny stayed and did some work for me — washed out about a dozen items by hand and hung them outside. (When the rains came later in the morning, I brought them in and hung them in the house.) Afterward, she washed and cut up some greens and onion, burned the trash, and swept the floors. I put a few eggs on to boil; filled the dish water kettle and the bath water kettle; made the bed; filled the filter pitcher; did a bit of sewing. After Sunny left, I worked more on the quarterly newsletter until the computer battery went low. Then I closed down the computer and put the it on to charge. Fixed my lunch and ate. Then worked on painting until nap time. Had a nice long nap and slept soundly. When I got up, I put water on to heat for washing my hair. After washing my hair, I cleaned the bathroom before turning on the computer and finishing the newsletter and writing in my journal. Time to make supper. Discovered a small amount of lentils left in their packet in the cupboard so decided to add those to some amaranth and cook that for my supper. Then I discovered the seaweed that Daddy bought several months ago and that had never been opened. Some of that would go good with the amaranth and lentils too. While the amaranth and lentils were cooking, I mashed up all the pumpkin I had cooked last night and mixed it with salt, pepper, and carrot powder. Heated a little of that up with some butter. Also added a can of tuna to the amaranth combo and enjoyed a nice supper. After supper, I tried to do the dishes, but had at least half dozen interruptions with people at the door. Finally got the dishes done, and then it was almost time for Daddy to call. Waited and waited for his call, but the phone didn’t ring. Finally Matthew came down with his phone to say that Daddy had been trying to call. So I called Daddy, and then he called me back. Don’t know how that works, but it has happened before. If I call him first, then he is able to get a connection. Enjoyed a pleasant half hour plus together by phone. “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.” Isaiah 40:8 Praise God that His word is unchangeable and unfailing!
