October 4. We didn’t go anywhere today, but we were thankful for a little more sunshine than we have had and hoped that the water would get a little hotter today. It might have gotten a little bit hotter, but I still needed to heat extra water to do dishes this evening. It was very cool in the flat this morning, but nice and sunny and warm out on the veranda so we did some walking out there for a while, and I also sat out there and finished praying. Today, I decided to do some painting so started a mountain scenery picture. Was having a hard time making the lake look like still water with the reflections from the mountains and trees. About a half hour before dinner, I got out the carrots to peel and cook for our veggie today. The carrots had so many split parts, knots, etc., it took a long time to get them peeled so our dinner was a bit later than usual. Later in the afternoon, I started working on the progress report. Continued with that this evening. Then washed the dishes before we listened to another church service from VBC. Finished sewing the dress hem that I started sewing Saturday evening. October 5. We went out about mid-morning to try to find a few groceries we needed. We were out over two hours and only bought a couple items that were on the list. It was lunch time when we got back to the flat; and we were hungry, thirsty, and tired. Had our lunch, and shortly afterward, had our nap. A long time was given this afternoon to preparing ingredients for soup. But in the end, it was worth the effort as we savored all the mingled flavors of fresh-homemade soup. This evening, I feel quite tired after being on my feet many hours today so after we finished supper and I finished writing the September progress report, I lay down for another nap before doing the dishes. After I did the dishes, we listened to a sermon by Ambassador Baptist College’s music teacher, Dr. Ream.
