June 15. When I got up this morning, Daddy was already up getting ready to work on my toilet. The chain keeps coming off and prevents it from flushing. He’s tried all kinds of ways to make the chain tight so it will stay, but it doesn’t. Only had one load of laundry this morning. As soon as that was done, we headed out as we had to make a stop at WalMart first to pick up some pallets for C&C to use for their garden. Christy was given some berry plants by her secret sister, and she and Connie are trying to make a raised garden to plant them. The ground is too hard to dig right now. This afternoon, C&C went and got a couple more pallets somewhere else, and then went to WalMart to load up on soil, mulch, etc. After we got to their house this morning, Daddy hung out the clothes, and I put away our lunch and supper foods in the fridge. After we got set up, looked at e-mails, and did a couple other little jobs, Daddy and I checked Acts 21. There were some difficult places today, so we are extra thankful for the Lord’s help. This afternoon, I spent a good amount of time looking through Pidgin Romans to check grammar and some word choices. Want to have that ready to print out when we finish Acts. “I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.” Psalm 69:30 June 16. A day at home. More time to read and pray and go over memory verses. Enjoyed the fresh air and exercise in the cool of the morning and the extra time to pray. After my walk, I cut up the papaya we bought the other day and enjoyed some of that with bananas and yogurt. Daddy tried another handyman idea for fixing my toilet, and I put the finishing touches on Connie’s decorative towel – embellishments on the right side this time. 😊 That project is finally finished now. (See picture) After that I looked over more of Pidgin Romans and then spent some time painting. Worked more on Romans and then fixed spaghetti and lima beans for Daddy’s dinner. After lunch and nap, I worked a little more on Romans. Then Daddy and I went out to White Oak Manor to see James. We were amazed at how well he seems to be doing. His mind seems to be much clearer than it was, and he communicated quite a bit more than before. He said he would like us to bring Ruth to see him and also to bring Christy and Connie some time. Daddy read Psalm 103 to him, and I sang a short medley of choruses before we left. We had hoped to go see Jean and Doug too, but I could not get any answer although I tried three times to call her. After leaving White Oak, we stopped by the girls’ house to pick up some Hot Shot (bug spray) to hopefully get rid of whatever the bugs are that seem to be enjoying Daddy’s bed. I also borrowed some brown paint to use for my painting. On the way home, we stopped at Hobby Lobby to see what was on discount (not much) and get some exercise walking around the store. By the time we got home, it was supper time. Then I finished up the chapter I had been working on in Romans so now have looked over four chapters—one quarter done. Praise the Lord! This evening, Daddy did the dishes, and I did more painting. Also started practicing spiral crochet. “I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.” Isaiah 61:10 One of my favorite verses. Such a beautiful picture of the salvation that God has provided for us!
