February 28. Last day of the month. Didn’t get as much packing done today as I had hoped. Busy answering the door much of the morning. Sunny came to charge her phone and transplant a couple of plants. Then she stayed and practiced keyboard while her phone was charging. One lady came to give us some money to take to her daughters in Goroka, and she talked a little while too. Nuandauro came to get her gift bag that I had ready for her. She came again in the early evening while I was doing dishes and brought me some yams. Even though I don’t need them right now, I took them because she likes to give me something in return for her goodies bag. She said her stomach hurt because she was hungry and hadn’t had time to eat this morning, but she didn’t have a pumpkin to cook so I gave her the extra pumpkin we had. Yanahdo came by too, and I gave her goody bag to her. I had already given it to Anna Jean to take down to her, but then she herself showed up. A young lady brought a half dozen eggs and got some yarn and chocolates and lollies in exchange. This afternoon just before supper time, Graham brought his wife Lynn so we could meet her, and we talked with them for a while. I did go outside for just a few minutes this morning while the sun was shining; but there was a cool wind blowing so that’s why I didn’t stay out long. Daddy started for a walk up the airstrip, but only got across the trail to the airstrip and felt tired out so came back. This afternoon, I made tortillas so I would have some to take to town. Shortly after we started devotions, Mike came with a box of books and a bag full of clothes to go with us on the plane. Nehemiah called too. He said he will be coming back to the mainland earlier than originally planned as he has meetings at Victory Baptist in Lae, Rambo Baptist (where he went to Bible school) and Goroka Baptist churches. March 1. Some rain during the night and a little early this morning; but, praise the Lord, He sent sunshine and wind to dry the clothes. Judy was a big help with laundry and filling up the wood box before she practiced computer. I kept busy with many things including packing, getting the extra space in Mike’s boxes filled up with Genesis/Exodus books and then taping up the boxes, making an ordination certificate for Mike who let Daddy know last night that he wants to be ordained for the ministry before he goes up to Wenera’s place. Mike talked with Wenera too, to see if he would be coming down to Goroka and maybe we could have a brief ordination service in Goroka and Wenera could witness the event.
