February 10. Today was clean-the-house day. We swept all the floors, washed the kitchen and dining room floors, and got ready for the exterminator to come at 11:00. Cockroaches have started to multiply in the kitchen and have really been making a nuisance of themselves, making a mad dash after our food as soon as we turn our backs even for a minute. We were thankful that our landlord was willing to take care of the problem while it was still localized, mainly concentrated around the stove and fridge in the kitchen. He put out “medicine” and glue traps which, he said, should take care of them within a couple weeks. Also did a load of wash this morning and revised John chapter 19. This afternoon, I worked on some ladies’ lessons. “6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6,7 More of God’s powerful ALL’s and EVERY’s! February 11. A lovely day, about 74º by mid-afternoon. How nice it was to turn off the heat and open doors and windows today. About mid-morning, Daddy and I went out to do a little shopping. First to Hobby Lobby to look for some gifts. Then to WalMart to get a few groceries, look for some gift items for the pregnancy center, and to continue looking for other gifts. I was happy to see Mary M at WalMart. Stopped at Dollar General after that to look for one more thing and then found where Ginger’s Salvage Store had moved to and went by to see what there was. We didn’t get to see Ginger because she was out somewhere. This afternoon, after getting the gift ready to go tomorrow, I finished crocheting Connie’s hat. “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8 My mind must always be filled only with those things that are excellent and praiseworthy.
