December 10. Seems like a sty or something came up on my lower eyelid yesterday evening. It came on pretty quickly and was pretty painful by the time I was getting ready for bed so I put some honey on it and took a couple ibuprofen. Tossed and turned quite a bit during the night, and didn’t wake up until about 6:30 this morning. Had a hard time getting moving and also a hard time getting my brain to work. I was thankful that my eye felt a fair bit better, and I put a little more honey on it to help complete the healing process. Since I was so slow getting going, I wasn’t quite ready when Daddy had planned to leave for church. Then we didn’t get off until late anyway because the back doors of the van were frozen, and we couldn’t get them open. He finally got one open, and we set off about 9:45 for Nations Baptist Church. Still got there before 10:00. We needn’t have worried about being late, because there wasn’t anyone else there yet except Pastor P and Matt and family. They were trying to get the heater to work and finally decided to meet in one of the smaller rooms for Sunday school because it would take a while for the auditorium to warm up. It was about 10:30 before Sunday school even started. By then a few more people were there. Matt taught from Acts 8 on the Ethiopian eunuch. He did well even though his computer crashed yesterday, and all his most recent notes were lost. He is good at asking questions and getting people to think. There were a few more people there when it was time for the main meeting so they put more chairs in the vestibule and we met there. Matt did the preaching for the main service as well. Pastor P had expected to be away so had Matt prepare for preaching so he just kept to that arrangement even though he was there. Matt preached on the wonderful gift of God from Romans 6:23. After church, everyone went out to eat together at Subway. Daddy dropped Connie and me off at the house first because we can’t eat the Subway food. Then he and Christy went out to meet the others at Subway and have lunch and fellowship with them. When Daddy and Christy got back, Daddy and I went for nap. A little before 3:00, Daddy and C & C went over to look at the house on B Street again. Mel met them there and looked things over pretty well, taking some pictures and writing down notes. There are quite a few things that would need to be worked on which means we would want to make a much lower offer if we decide to buy the house. We really appreciated Mel’s input. Finished the crocheted beret this evening while we were listening to a recorded sermon. Thought I would run out of yarn before it was complete, but I had just enough, with just about a foot long string left. “2See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: 3And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship….” Exodus 31:2,3 When the Lord calls us to do His work, He fills us with His Spirit, giving us wisdom, understanding, and knowledge to be able to do all that He wants us to do.
