May 15. Charlotte day. Left here around 9:00 so we could go to TJ’s before the chiropractor and get home early like we did last month. Stopped first at the post office to mail a letter. Then Daddy decided to take Marion Street out to 74. That would have been fine except that we ran into stopped traffic along that two-lane road. A car and a truck were part way off and part way on the road. An accident? We’re not sure. So many cars kept coming from the other direction, we wondered if we would ever get around. The driver of the car finally pulled it off the road farther as the line of cars was getting too long. That made enough room then for everyone to go by. Arrived at TJ’s a little after 10:00. Did our shopping there and received a pretty pink rosebud with a stem of baby’s breath. Thank you, TJ's, and thank you, Lord. Daddy dropped Connie and me off at Dr. Schulman’s and went on over to Neighborhood WalMart while Connie and I went into Dr. Schulman’s. We got done about the same time and headed home. Arrived home around 12:30. Put away food, and had lunch and nap. After nap, Daddy and I went over to visit Doug and Jean for a while. We took them a prayer card and brochure and for Jean a celosia plant for Mother’s Day. When we came back, Daddy and I brought Christy’s and Connie’s clothes in. Christy was off shopping and Connie had cooking to do. Very warm and muggy out this afternoon - in the 80’s today. Completed the plan for the new display board and got a picture file set up to take to WalMart for printing. “7Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. 8Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh…. 10Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. 11Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.” James 5:7,8,10,11 May 16. Hot and humid again this afternoon, although the morning was quite pleasant. Another very tiring day so I am thankful for God’s grace and strength - “as thy days, so shall thy strength be.” Washed hair and showered. Had breakfast and quiet time and put clothes in the washing machine. Made a special card for a special friend, Pat. Left for Hickory a little after 9:00. Went to Aldi first, as we had decided to do our Aldi shopping while we were up there so we won’t have so much to do on Thursday. Then we went to Sears and returned the blender and picked up our new eye glasses. Headed home after that, making a pit stop at Ingles in north Shelby and picking up a pack of small garbage bags. Arrived home around 1:15. Put away groceries. Had lunch. And was very happy to have a nap This afternoon, we brought clothes in, and I folded clothes before spending some time on the youth lessons for GIBC.
