July 20. As soon as I came to the kitchen this morning, I put a pot of prunes on to heat and soak. Decided to eat some grain this morning for a change so cooked a small potful of quinoa. Had my morning drinks and quiet time. When the quinoa was done, I ate a small amount with some leftover veggies. Then I put in the first load of wash and sat outside for more prayer time. The first load of wash (sheets and towels and the bath mat) took a little longer to finish its cycle because it wouldn’t balance out, so I had to open it, rearrange the items, then let it start its rinse/spin cycle again. When that load was finally done, I took it out and put in the clothing load; then helped Daddy hang the first load out. While the second load was finishing washing, I made a smoothie and drank it. Opened up my computer and got it ready to use. Then we hung out the second load of clothes; and afterward, we checked Romans 11. It had quite a few more difficult spots than the other chapters, but we are thankful to always have the Lord’s guidance—through the tough spots as well as through the easier ones. Went for a nap early as I still wasn’t feeling well and slept an hour and a half. This afternoon, I made corrections for Romans 11, added it to the print file, and then added the English for chapter 12. The rest of the afternoon and into the evening, I worked on outreach lessons for MTC, although I took time out to make the bed with the clean sheets, fold and put away the other laundry that had been washed today, cook up the rest of the kale along with some carrots for supper, and eat supper. “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13 If, when we stray away from the LORD, we seek Him and search for Him with all our heart, He will surely be found of us. July 21. The Lord sent us a wind and rain storm during the night. I was thankful that the driveway was dry enough this morning so I could get my walking exercise. But first came making a batch of pancakes for Daddy, for today’s breakfast and for several breakfasts to come. Also cooked him a couple eggs to go on his first pancake and later cooked an egg for myself, to go on my veggies and quinoa. Snatched up quiet time while I was eating my breakfast; and then when breakfast was done, I was able to sit out in the quietness of the cool morning air and have a time of prayer. That is also when I took time for walking. After turning on the computer, I answered a couple e-mails. Then I spent an hour painting. 12:00 now. Oh, oh! I was supposed to make a meal for Daddy. Hurry and get the cod fish ready to go into the oven. Put on a small pot of rice. Cook frozen corn in microwave when fish is almost done. Rice wasn’t done in time, but Daddy put his fish on his slim bread with some mayonnaise and enjoyed it that way. So sorry that dinner was late. That made nap late too. After nap, I painted again until almost supper time. “7And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. 8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:7,8 We do not need to be concerned about the things of the future that we cannot see or understand. Our concern should be focused on what God wants us to do now, especially on the work of being witnesses of Jesus Christ.
