Note: There have been some trials and dark times in the work of the ministry. I’m not at liberty to share these, but please pray about these matters. Also, someone was so kind as to provide for both printing and shipping of Bibles for the people of Owena and for others in the area as well. Please pray that all the details involved in the shipping, storing, etc. can be worked out soon and Bibles can be shipped and placed into the hands of the Owena Christians. Thanks so much! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- May 1. Praise the Lord for His strength and help today. I was somewhat nervous about handling the class myself, but the Lord was my sufficiency. May 2. The Lord delighted us with a magnificent rainbow in the western sky this morning, arching completely across the western sky and high into the heavens, far higher than any mountain, reminding us again of His promises and His faithfulness. Most of the afternoon was spent preparing a meal for this evening. However, there was some time to start work on school lessons this afternoon, too, and again this evening. May 3. We sprang out of bed early this morning to view another wonder of God’s creation. When we opened our eyes, a bright glow was shining through the curtains. There must be a sunrise! No lying in bed this morning. Yes! Not only was there a sunrise, there was an all-around sunrise. After looking out the bedroom window at the southern sky, we ran to the east window. Yes! Then to the north and west windows. Yes! Thank you, Lord, for the beautiful pictures you paint for your children. The sunrise was soon gone, and it was off to the kitchen for breakfast and to the laundry room to wash clothes. Since Anna Jean has gone back to school, it looks like I will be washing clothes on Wednesday mornings, my day off teaching. After breakfast, washing and hanging out clothes, making the bed, and having quiet time, I wrote a couple e-mails. Then I photo-copied a school certificate for Mike and printed a Bible verse poster for our new Bible verse which I’ll start teaching tomorrow. By then it was already 10:30. Daddy and I went for a walk. It was good to get out in the fresh air. When we returned, I got busy painting (with markers) the words of the Bible verse and pasting the two pages on a piece of poster paper. After nap, I started catching up on journal entries from the past couple days. Then I had more printing to do for school as well as other things to get ready for classes tomorrow. A few more little things had to be done in the evening, and that was it for today. “Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.” (Psalm 68:28) Oh, how I need God’s strength. Thank you, dear Lord, for commanding my strength. (See Psalm 71:3; Isaiah 40:31)
