March 24. Went to bed somewhat early last night and went to sleep in no time. Didn’t even know when Daddy turned the light out and came to bed. Slept until about 6:30 this morning. Later in the morning, Tim and Ruth took us to Wilmington to the Goodwill Thrift Store. Daddy found several shirts, and I found a lightweight, but warm, spring jacket to replace my old ragged one; a nice light blue sweatshirt-material sweater with an ocean scene on it (to replace my old ragged white one); a long sleeved dressy off-white blouse; and a little gift for someone special. It was after 12:00 when we got back to the house. Had lunch and nap. Fell sound asleep at nap time, and it was going on 3:30 by the time we got up. Around 4:00, we took off for the beach. We bundled up warm with jackets and hats. We enjoyed a wonderful walk along the ocean front, collecting shells and stones, and taking pictures. Relaxed a bit after we came home and then had supper. “11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” Titus 2:11-14 Praise the Lord that His grace brought salvation to ALL men, yes to even me. It is Jesus Christ who is my Saviour, who gave Himself to take my place in death that He might redeem me from ALL iniquity, that He might purify me unto Himself to be one of His own people, zealous of good works March 25. Slept in ’til almost 6:30 again this morning, but didn’t go to bed quite as early last night. The Lord gave us a lovely day today. We didn’t go out anywhere this morning, except to go for a short walk to the end of Morgan Lane and back. My legs were hurting a lot this morning. Then Ruthie gave me some of her vitamin D, and I felt a lot better this afternoon. I didn’t realize how much the vitamin D was helping, and I hadn’t brought mine with me. Before lunch, I did some crocheting on the turtle. Took another little stretch outside before lunch and also put a couple things in the car to start getting ready for our trip up to Havelock tomorrow. After nap, I finished the turtle and took the bag of crochet stuff out to the car. Got out my other crochet project and put it near the front as the baby layette is pretty much done. Will have to put a button on the other bootie when we get home, and still need to decide if I will put a drawstring in the hood of the jacket. Around 4:30 this afternoon, we left here for Surf City where Kerri and family are spending a week of vacation at the beach. It was good to see Kerri again, and meet her husband Rob Melson and their two kids Brody and Ryan, and see Devin and Hailey who were very small the last time we saw them. Before supper, Brody and Ryan put a couple kids’ puzzles together that they found in the cupboard there. Rob and Tim went out to get pizza for our supper. After supper, Tim, Daddy, and I put together a 300 piece puzzle of all kinds of candies. Brody (only 6) was quite a whiz even at helping with that big puzzle. Then his mom gave him a Lego model to put together and he found that more interesting. We left there a little before 8:00 and came back to Tim and Ruth’s so Daddy could do more studying before tomorrow. “1Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, 2To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.” Titus 3:1,2 In these verses, the apostle Paul gives more guidelines for godly living, including submission and obedience to rulers and those in authority over us, always being ready for every good work, not speaking evil of or defaming others, not being a brawler (making a lot of noise, quarreling). Instead I need to be gentle and show all meekness unto ALL men.
