August 12. What a day it has been! I woke up around 5:45. Got up and took my shower and washed my hair. Fixed eggs to go with Daddy’s pancakes for his breakfast, had my morning drinks and fixed and ate my breakfast, and did last minute packing and loading stuff in the car in between those tasks. Rain slowed us down a bit with loading the car. Finally we were off on our trip a little after 8:00. After many delays along the way, we finally arrived at Tim and Ruth’s around 5:00. A trip that should have taken no more than six hours took nine. We made a number of pit stops, food stops, drink stops, stretch stops, a stop for gas. I was amazed at the heavy traffic as last Saturday there was hardly any traffic. We were slowed down several times because of traffic backups. Apparently there were some special events going on this weekend at different places. After we arrived, Tim and Ruth took us over to see Bobby J and his wife Shirley and some other family members. Bobby has been diagnosed with colon cancer, and he and Shirley will be headed up to Rochester, MN, tomorrow morning for Bobby to have tests and then surgery. While we were over there, we found out that Linda lives in Havelock. So Bobby called her, and we talked together for quite a while. She is hoping to come by to see us tomorrow when we go to Freedom Baptist. When we came back to Ruth and Tim’s, we unloaded the car and Ruthie fixed us turkey burgers for supper. “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” Genesis 3;15 “10Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.” Isaiah 53:10,11 “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.” Romans 16:20
